GBS Director, Process Excellence

Key Responsibilities

As the GBS Director, you will set the strategy for process excellence, working alongside leaders to design and implement plans aligned with AstraZeneca’s vision. You’ll drive impactful improvements, champion productivity targets, and foster a culture where every voice matters and every idea counts. Leveraging policies and frameworks, you’ll oversee performance management, facilitate knowledge sharing, and ensure best practices elevate our delivery. As a people leader, you’ll empower a network of GBS experts and provide training and coaching to nurture continuous improvement across all functions.

Qualification & Requirements

Essential Skills/Experience

• Proven expertise in GBS process excellence, with a passion for leading teams and creating environments focused on high-quality delivery.
• At least 10 years’ experience driving process improvements and change in global business services, influencing diverse groups and leading in matrix organizations.
• Demonstrated success implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and global improvement programs on time and within budget.
• Strong organizational, planning, leadership, and communication skills, able to inspire and influence at every level.
• Excellent analytical skills, using data-backed insights to identify opportunities and deliver solutions.
• Experience leading organizational change and building a culture of continuous improvement.
• Professional qualifications in Six Sigma, Lean, plus familiarity with process mining tools such as Celonis.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Global exposure and understanding of the pharmaceuticals sector.
• Experience with Service Now performance management and reporting solutions.
• Budgeting, cost management, and performance management expertise.
• Familiarity with Process Documentation tools such as BIC.
