Description
Allient Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking a Director of Shared Services to join our team! The Director of Shared Services is responsible for the strategic direction, operational leadership, and continuous improvement of the organization’s shared services department. This includes oversight of finance operations (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, certain general ledger / account reconciliation activities), and other enterprise-wide support functions. The role ensures consistent service delivery, efficiency, compliance, and scalability across all business units overseeing a team of administrative staff who process the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for the Allient Inc. operations in North America. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for the Shared Services function aligned with business goals.
- Drive transformation initiatives focused on digitization, automation, and process optimization.
Service Delivery & Operations
- Ensure high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of shared services
- Establish and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Manage a centralized team.
Process Improvement & Technology
- Lead initiatives to standardize and streamline processes across departments.
- Implement systems and tools to enhance service delivery.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure internal controls, regulatory compliance, and risk management across all shared service functions.
- Collaborate with internal audit and legal teams as necessary.
People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of service professionals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer service.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between shared services and business unit leaders.
- Regularly communicate performance updates and lead cross-functional initiatives.
Qualification & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 7 years of progressive experience in finance, operations, or shared services, with at least 5 in a leadership role
- Demonstrated success in building or leading shared service centers
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Dynamics)
- Proven ability to lead transformation initiatives and manage change
- Knowledge of service management frameworks (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) a plus
Work Environment:
- Office environment with very limited exposure to the production floor
- Some travel may be required
