Description
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving operational excellence, integration of newly acquired firms, and scaling our platform for sustained growth. The COO will oversee day-to-day operations across our multi-office footprint and build a unified operational backbone to support our strategic objectives. This leader will bring deep operational rigor, a hands-on leadership style, and a passion for helping entrepreneurial firms thrive within a larger platform.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day firmwide operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and scalability across locations and service lines.
- Oversee core shared services including finance, HR, IT, client service operations, and administration.
- Partner with the CEO/MP to implement the company’s strategic plan, translating it into tactical initiatives and operating metrics.
Integration & Growth Execution
- Lead operational integration of newly acquired firms, ensuring smooth transitions while maintaining firm culture and client continuity.
- Develop and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) across functional areas to align decentralized firms with centralized support systems.
- Identify and remove bottlenecks to growth, helping firms scale profitably within the platform.
Performance Management
- Implement KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance across regions, practices, and operational functions.
- Establish a culture of accountability through data-driven decision-making, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.
Team Building & Leadership
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of operational leaders and functional heads
- Foster cross-functional collaboration and clear communication among leadership, partner firms, and support teams.
Technology & Process Innovation
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to modernize operations through technology adoption and process automation.
- Champion scalable systems to support client service delivery, compliance, and internal efficiency.
Qualification & Requirements
- 10+ years of operational leadership experience in professional services, ideally in accounting, consulting, or PE-backed environments.
- Proven experience leading multi-site operations and integrating acquired firms or business units.
- Demonstrated success in scaling a platform and leading change in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong understanding of finance, process improvement, and organizational design.
- Excellent communication, team-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- CPA, MBA, or similar credential preferred but not required.
