Description

Valmet is seeking a visionary and experienced Senior Manager – Valmet Data Services to lead our enterprise-wide Master Data Management (MDM) operations. This is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and executing our global data strategy, driving operational excellence, and enabling digital transformation across regions and business functions.

This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, governance, and quality of business-critical data, while supporting innovation through automation, AI, and analytics.

Senior Manager, Valmet Data Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead centralized Valmet Data Services (VDS) across EMEA, Americas, and APAC regions.
  • Standardize business static and transactional data processes (e.g., customer, vendor, material, finance master data).
  • Drive automation and implement AI/ML use cases to optimize data lifecycle and quality.
  • Collaborate with IT, business leaders, compliance teams, and data councils to embed governance and best practices.
  • Build and lead high-performing, cross-cultural, global teams with a focus on SLAs, KPIs, and service delivery excellence.
  • Develop and monitor data quality dashboards; ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with international data regulations (GDPR, CCPA, DPDPA).
  • Lead user training, awareness programs, and global key user networks to drive adoption of master data standards.
  • Continuously improve data operations through root cause analysis, proactive issue resolution, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Support onboarding, training, and capability building for business units on data governance and MDM practices.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, IT, or Engineering (preferred).
  • 20+ years of experience in MDM (Master Data Management), data governance, data operations, and shared services environments.
  • Proven experience leading global teams and working in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of data migration, quality assurance, and compliance regulations.

Key Competencies

  • Strategic thinker with ability to translate vision into execution.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise systems and end-to-end data lifecycle.
  • Effective leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with AI/ML in data operations is a strong plus.
  • High cultural awareness and ability to manage diverse, global teams.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
