Description

The Operations Director is responsible for leading and optimizing all operational functions, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strategic alignment with the company’s goals. This role encompasses supply chain management, production, quality control, logistics, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive growth and profitability in a highly competitive FMCG market.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Strategy & Management

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s business goals.
  • Optimize end-to-end supply chain operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between production, logistics, procurement, and distribution.

Supply Chain & Logistics Management

  • Oversee procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
  • Manage warehousing, logistics, and distribution to guarantee timely delivery and minimize waste.
  • Implement best practices in demand planning and forecasting.

Production & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure high-quality production processes that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor production KPIs such as efficiency, yield, and waste reduction.
  • Implement continuous improvement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Cost Control & Financial Performance

  • Develop and manage the operations budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor operational expenses and ensure alignment with financial targets.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to local and international regulations, including health & safety and environmental standards.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate operational disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance policies.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure effective workforce planning, training, and performance management.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives to enhance productivity.
  • Identify and implement cutting-edge technologies to optimize operations.
  • Promote sustainability and innovation in operational processes.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or production management within an FMCG environment.
  • Proven track record of driving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and process optimization.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, and logistics.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, data analytics, and automation technologies.
