Description
The Operations Director is responsible for leading and optimizing all operational functions, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strategic alignment with the company’s goals. This role encompasses supply chain management, production, quality control, logistics, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive growth and profitability in a highly competitive FMCG market.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Strategy & Management
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s business goals.
- Optimize end-to-end supply chain operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure seamless coordination between production, logistics, procurement, and distribution.
Supply Chain & Logistics Management
- Oversee procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
- Manage warehousing, logistics, and distribution to guarantee timely delivery and minimize waste.
- Implement best practices in demand planning and forecasting.
Production & Quality Assurance
- Ensure high-quality production processes that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor production KPIs such as efficiency, yield, and waste reduction.
- Implement continuous improvement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
Cost Control & Financial Performance
- Develop and manage the operations budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Monitor operational expenses and ensure alignment with financial targets.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to local and international regulations, including health & safety and environmental standards.
- Implement risk management strategies to mitigate operational disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance policies.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
- Ensure effective workforce planning, training, and performance management.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives to enhance productivity.
- Identify and implement cutting-edge technologies to optimize operations.
- Promote sustainability and innovation in operational processes.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or production management within an FMCG environment.
- Proven track record of driving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, and logistics.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, data analytics, and automation technologies.
