Description

The Senior Manager, Shared Services II (Hybrid team) is responsible for conducting proper investigations, due diligence activities for loan proposals, Annual Reviews and Amendment Service Requests, with a focus on Corporate Financing transactions, high commitment accounts, complex transactions and specialized industries. The Senior Manager II, Shared Services must also present high-quality comprehensive proposals, which include both loan and concurrent amendment submissions necessary to provide an optimal internal and external client experience. Proposals include all appropriate analysis and documentation while ensuring that risk levels are within the parameters of accepted credit practices and BDC policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Using a holistic approach, evaluate the client’s current and proposed lending to recommend comprehensive solutions that optimize internal and external client experience.
  • Ability to autonomously underwrite and administer high and advanced complexity loans including high commitments and specialized industries, ensuring high quality analysis, proper investigations and due diligence, taking ownership of the end-to-end shared services process on these files.
  • Develop appropriate terms, pricing, conditions and covenants while ensuring thorough credit analysis, due diligence and sound account management practices.
  • Participate in the resolution of compliance or material changes that arise as deals are being negotiated and structured.
  • Develop win-win solutions for the client and BDC through innovative thinking and resourcefulness,
  • Collaborate effectively with the Corporate Financing team, business centre personnel, Underwriting and Portfolio Management colleagues, and internal partners to foster teamwork, the pursuit of common objectives and the consistent application of policies.
  • Keep abreast of changes to policies, procedures and detailed processes and trends in credit and regulatory issues that may have an impact on BDC.
  • Coach new employees and BDLs; mentor and share experience with team members and colleagues in both Underwriting and Portfolio Management.
  • Be a change agent for key initiatives that will impact all shared services teams.
  • Foster innovation by recommending and implementing improvements and changes to BDC processes to continue to grow and enhance the “hybrid team” offering.
  • Maintain a high level of service managing several requests for loans and administration concurrently.
  • Be agile and able to pivot quickly to respond to high level of demand in either Underwriting or Portfolio Management.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration or accounting
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in loan writing and ability to analyze and structure complex financial deals
  • Sound credit judgement coupled with a strong understanding of credit policies and practices
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies and procedures and ability to provide high quality customer service to internal/external clients
  • Ability to develop win-win solutions for the client and BDC through innovative thinking and a comprehensive approach, considering both new financing as well as amendments to existing financing, concurrently.
  • Strong communication skills to be able to interact with clients and negotiate with the internal partners.
  • Good time management and priority setting skills to meet critical deadlines
  • Strong business acumen
  • Team player with a thorough understanding of the dynamics of the small business environment
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to a changing environment where continuous improvement is expected.
