Description
The Senior Project Manager will lead project activities across IS Shared Services IT managed applications.
To provide IT, overall analytical leadership on applications and projects, based on operational, client, regulatory and market requests. To perform research analysis, design and implementation of IT projects in order to enhance competitive edge or to reduce costs, liaising with project teams to provide estimates and to support System and User Acceptance testing globally.
All responsibilities carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Guiding Principles ensuring adherence to Privacy principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Plans and executes projects with value of 100,000K and above (benefit/cost), and at least a high level of complexity and uncertainty including managing project scope, requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics / assumptions.
- Works with Business/Technology Owners to ensure that the deliverables achieve the business result that enables value creation.
- Facilitates joint planning with the client in the early stages of project formation.
- Determines quality standards and oversees the execution / production of management documents.
- Identifies and manages project costs and budgets anticipating operational and some tactical risks.
- Raises and tracks issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves minor project issues and escalates them to immediate manager when required.
- Facilitates schedule and cost forecasting; mentors project managers in determining risk based provisions
Qualification & Requirements
Must Have
- Highly skilled in IT Project Management, with experience managing complex tech projects
- Experience Identifying and managing project costs and budgets anticipating operational and tactical risks.
- Experience developing integrated baseline project plans, and applying estimated models; documenting estimating assumptions, refining plans and managing performance against them
- Experience facilitating schedule and cost forecasting
- Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to adapt and react to changes
