Description
Position: GBS Record-to-Report (R2R) Director
Location: GBS Hub – Malaysia (with support from CoEs in Europe and India)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a multi-functional R2R organization, including:
- Record-2-Close (R2C) – Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant recording of financial transactions.
- Financial Close & Report (FC&R) – Manage monthly, quarterly, and yearly close for 65+ global legal entities, including Business Management Control (BMC).
- remote-LEFC (r-LEFC) – Full financial leadership and control for entities without on-site controllers (currently 13 entities, expanding to 28).
- Tax Accounting (TAX) – Support Transfer Pricing and intercompany financial transactions.
- Asset Accounting & Management (AAM) – Oversee asset lifecycle from creation to disposal.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and analytics.
- Support strategic decision-making by providing clear financial insights.
- Drive operational improvements and enhance stakeholder experience.
- Represent GBS commitment to process excellence and business partnership.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance
- Chartered Accountant certification
- 10+ years in a Shared Services environment
- Proven people management (leading teams >50 people)
- Business proficiency in English
- Strong transformation and change management experience
- Leadership qualities: communication, collaboration, employee engagement
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Customer service orientation, structured service delivery
- Advocate for user experience and stakeholder satisfaction
