Description

Global Business Services (GBS) Record-2-Report Director is responsible for leading a multi-functional organization, primarily located in the GBS Hub (Malaysia) and supported by GBS Centers of Excellence (Europe and India).

Record-2-Report is responsible for recording all ST’s financial transactions and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of ST’s financial records, enabling the Company to assess its financial performance and health effectively through a comprehensive and efficient Record-2-Report ( R2R ) process. In addition, R2R provides reliable financial reporting and analytics on ST’s performance to assist our Business Partners and Stakeholders in their understanding of the financial data and facilitate strategic decision-making. It represents an ongoing effort to improve our operations and deliver value to our internal customers in a fast changing business environment.

Global Business Services – Record-2-Report Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Record-2-Close (R2C): Responsible for diligently recording all transactions that have a financial impact, ensuring each record is timely, accurate and reflective of the business activity. Financial records must be compliant and in accordance with the fiscal and regulatory accounting standards.
  • Financial Close-&-Report (FC&R): Responsible for managing ST’s financial closing process on monthly, quarterly and yearly frequency. This involves 65 legal entities globally operating in different time zones across the world. The Financial Closing Process for all legal entities need to be delivered accurately and timely (within 3 working days). FC&R also includes Business Management Control (BMC) which provides financial analysis and reporting services, designed to empower informed business decision-making.
  • Remote-LEFC (r-LEFC):  Team’s mission is to deliver the full financial leadership and control for ST affiliates (legal entities) where there is no on-site financial controller presence. The team assumes the complete role, accountability, and responsibility generally associated to this position of Legal Entity Controller, leveraging on technology and remote expertise. Currently there are 13 remote legal entities under r-LEFC with a roadmap to increase to 28 in the coming months.
  • Tax Accounting (TAX): Primarily responsible to support Transfer Pricing and to manage all intercompany financial transactions. This is a new team under R2Rand the scope and activities are being further developed
  • Asset Accounting & Management (AAM): Manages the full life-cycle of each asset, from creation to disposal.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance
  • Chartered Accountant
  • 10+ years gained in Shared Service environment
  • English business proficiency
  • People management experience (team size > 50)
  • Proven Transformation experience preferable – change management is important aspect of this role
  • Excellent leadership skills are a must (communication, team player, good listener, employee engagement…)
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Customer Service orientated (structured service delivery and effective query management)
  • Promote User Experience Culture (stakeholders, internal customers, team members)
