Description

The GBS Business Data Strategy Leader will define and lead the implementation of our data strategy in partnership with our Executive Leadership team and IT organization. The role will be instrumental in transforming our data assets into actionable insights, aligning data initiatives with business goals, implementing a strong governance program, and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.

Corporate Vice President, GBS Business Data Strategy Leader

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a high-performing business insights and governance team, managing a team of 6-10 full-time employees.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that supports business needs via collaboration with functional area leaders and their teams, as well as data & analytics peers.
  • Lead initiatives in collaboration with IT to improve data governance and quality, along with master data management.
  • Build out a data stewardship program, including data catalog and training of our community of data analysts.
  • Identify and execute on data and analytics use cases across the organization to drive business value and enable decision making.
  • Oversee build out of consolidated data sets sourced from Group Data Hub, while sunsetting legacy tools.
  • Collaborate with enterprise teams where applicable to ensure consistency of approaches where applicable and leverage their skill sets as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy, and data security standards.
  • Define and track key data and analytics KPIs.

Qualification & Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data strategy and analytics, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Established understanding of group life and disability insurance products, processes, and regulations.
  • Proven experience developing and executing data strategies and use cases in complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data architecture, and data quality management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with modern data platforms and tools (e.g., Amazon Web Services tech stack, Databricks, Power BI, etc.) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
