Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant – Shared Services to support enterprise-wide accounting processes across Apogee’s multiple business units and locations. This role provides accounting leadership for fixed assets, leases, and select other shared-service-accounting functions, serving the entire Apogee enterprise—not just a single business segment.

Senior Accountant – Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations related to fixed assets, leases, and other shared services functions.
  • Support month-end close activities across multiple sites, general ledgers, and ERP systems.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of fixed asset and lease accounting—from tracking construction-in-process and new lease contracts, to recording depreciation, amortization, and disposals.
  • Support the corporate accounting team with technical accounting research, drafting of accounting policies, and documentation of guidance on complex topics.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, and improve accounting processes across business units and IT environments.
  • Execute, monitor, and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted partner for cross-functional and cross-BU initiatives.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of accounting experience; public accounting or experience at a public company in the manufacturing or construction industries is a plus.
  • CPA (or progress toward certification) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with technical accounting topics is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and solve problems with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working across multiple systems, teams, and locations in a dynamic, matrixed environment. Experience with ERPs such as SAP, JDE, or Epicor is a plus.

Benefits

  • Competitive Benefits Package for employees and their dependents (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability)
  • Incentive Plans
  • 401(k) with employer contribution and match
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan with employer match
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation and Sick Time)
  • Paid Holidays
  • Tuition Reimbursement Program
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Wellness Program
  • Training and Career Progression
