Description
We are a growing U.S.-based company looking for a smart, driven COO Trainee located in the Philippines to support company operations and grow into a core leadership role. Ideal candidates have a Computer Science background, an MBA, and proven digital marketing experience.
This is a hands-on role that blends leadership, technical problem-solving, and operational execution. You’ll work directly with the CEO to manage priorities, lead a remote team, oversee recruiting efforts, and ensure the company runs smoothly across multiple workstreams.
We’re looking for someone who thrives under pressure, handles competing tasks with clarity, and wants to grow into a COO or senior operations role.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Operations
- Lead and coordinate a small remote team across technical and administrative functions.
- Track goals, assign responsibilities, and ensure performance across departments.
- Vetting, interviewing, and hiring candidates and vendors as the team expands.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-driven work environment.
Executive & Project Support
- Manage emails, calendars, and meeting logistics for the CEO and leadership team.
- Organize internal priorities, follow-ups, and workflows to ensure execution.
- Maintain clean, cloud-based systems for files, tasks, and communication.
Technical & Research Tasks
- Test and evaluate software for functionality, usability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot basic tech issues and coordinate with developers and IT vendors.
- Conduct online research to support procurement, market analysis, or strategy.
- Assist with internal project tracking, documentation, and reporting.
Flexibility Under Pressure
- Stay calm and organized while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Anticipate problems, take initiative, and solve challenges independently.
Qualification & Requirements
- MBA and BS in Computer Science or a related technical degree.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in operations, team leadership, tech, or digital marketing.
- Proven ability to manage and hire team members or freelancers.
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Technically confident, able to learn new platforms quickly and troubleshoot issues.
- Independent worker with strong follow-through and a proactive mindset.
Bonus Points For:
- QA/testing or light scripting/automation experience.
- Background in fast-paced tech, consulting, or startup environments.
- Familiarity with hiring platforms, applicant tracking systems, or recruitment tools.
