Description
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality across all departments. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the COO will work closely with the CEO and other department heads to develop and execute strategies, troubleshoot operational challenges, and drive growth through effective leadership and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee the company’s day-to-day operations, including sales, finance, and operations, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with organizational goals.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize operational processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Strategic Planning: Work with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement the company’s strategic goals and operational plans. Align operational strategies with overall business objectives.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as the liaison between departments, ensuring that finance, sales, and operations teams are aligned and working together effectively. Provide troubleshooting and support to resolve any cross-functional challenges.
- Performance Management: Develop and monitor KPIs and performance metrics to track operational success. Provide regular updates to the CEO and board on operational performance and areas of concern.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of managers and staff. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify operational risks and create mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards across all operational areas.
Qualification & Requirements
- Proven experience (10+ years) in an operations management role, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position such as Director of Operations or COO.
- Strong knowledge and experience across multiple business functions, including sales, finance, and operations.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building, managing, and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization.
- A deep understanding of operational processes and financial management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment and manage competing priorities.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
