Director of Front-End Revenue Cycle – Cancer Center & Pharmacy Specialties (Bay Area)

This Director will lead front-end operations within our cancer center and specialty pharmacy services. This role is pivotal in ensuring streamlined patient access, accurate benefit verification, authorization management, and financial counseling for complex, high-cost treatment plans.

The successful candidate will have deep experience in oncology and/or specialty pharmacy revenue cycle operations, with a nuanced understanding of payer requirements, specialty drug workflows, and patient assistance programs. Responsibilities include optimizing front-end processes to support patient experience and financial performance while ensuring compliance in a highly regulated environment.

This is a high-impact leadership role that requires strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for patient-centered care in oncology and specialty services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for enhancing and maintaining a properly functioning revenue cycle process through a cross-department organizational structure.
  • Critical responsibilities include achievement of annual and periodic goals for significant statistical indicators of revenue cycle performance and for the overall financial performance and protecting the assets of organization.
  • Responsible for management and performance of vendor relationships requiring knowledge of issues regarding third party payor reimbursement, billing compliance, and accounts receivable management.
  • Participates in service agreement negotiations, service performance analysis, and development of monitoring and reporting methodology.

Qualification & Requirements

Education

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Healthcare or related field

  • 12 years recent relevant experience

Skills and Knowledge

  • Working knowledge in the areas of patient registration, billing, accounts receivable (AR) and cash management requirements, managed care contractual terms and requirements, health insurance practices, industry regulatory requirements, business office operations, AR and financial reporting technology, wage and hour regulations, basic accounting, and industry standards for healthcare revenue resolution management practices.
  • Financial management skills, including the ability to financially analyze data for operations, budgeting, auditing, forecasting; basic accounting knowledge; AR and reserve analysis, market analysis; staffing and financial reporting skills.
  • Ability to utilize detailed/complex information technology to maximize the efficiency and quality of revenue cycle activities; analyze and interpret complex data and draw logical conclusions to develop and address revenue cycle operational processes.
  • Demonstrates credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to motivate and engage others.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts and communicate information or issues in a manner that is readily understood by management and employees.
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in achieving goals through individuals without having direct control of those resources.
