Indonesia Operations Controller

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the reporting and analysis process of Indonesia Entities to ensure the quality, timeliness, and integrity of the financial statements:
  • Ensure all inventory and costing statements, balance sheet, and cash flow adjustments and validations are reviewed before submitting results to Sector.
  • Prepare and present, if needed, to the senior Leadership Team monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages and variance analysis
  • Develop own skills to become the subject matter expert on cost accounting
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Provide/Develop decision support tools for functional management
  • Owns the necessary internal and external reporting requirements, including:
  • Monthly Close and Flash reporting on key costing drivers
  • US GAAP reporting
  • Balance sheet reviews (inclusive of monthly reconciliations) – Inventory movement, CAPEX management, Agro management and Supply chain accrual
  • Cashflow/working capital (YAGO to actual analysis, etc)
  • Internal audit information
  • External audit information required for statutory accounts and returns
  • Other regulatory requirements (Production volume, Efficiency, CAPEX investment report)
  • Manages GCS agenda of Indonesian entities. Ensures that operation controls are reviewed for business changes, test scripts are updated, and testing is completed timely. Ensure timely remediation of any control deficiencies identified.
  • Collaborates with the Treasury team on cash requirement plan for all Indonesia CAPEX
  • Manages ongoing relationships with external service providers (IBM, auditors, tax/legal advisors, bankers).
  • Oversees local open tax cases collaborating with Business Controllers and Sector Tax Team and/or consultants.
  • Drives best practices on processes that impact financial reporting across the business and shared services teams. This will include process improvement and re-design, challenging of the status quo and building a close working relationship with the key leaders in the business and the SSC BPO.
  • Primary liaison for communication and updates or resolution of key accounting, reporting and control issues between MU and BU/IBM/Sector
  • Develop and lead the implementation of financial policies/guidelines
  • Lead assessment of impact to MU of any changes in accounting treatment (e.g., Inventory in transit, inventory provision, COGS recognition, Agro accounting, Manufacturing overhead)
  • Leads, motivates and develops a team through building capability whilst ensuring activities are completed accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate Balance Sheet Review with the Operation team
  • Lead implementation of PepsiCo risk management initiatives and best practices
  • Execute Contract Review Management to endure terms and conditions in accordance with the company’s policies
  • Demonstrates and exercises a commitment to promote, develop, and improve the health, safety, and welfare of our people.
  • Support CFO, Ops Director, Planning Manager & Plant Manager in developing AOP/ Strategic plan and sharing actual results to assist them in delivering GP targets, develop strategies for improvements in cost-effectiveness (direct costs, conversions, labor efficiencies, and overheads
  • Assist plant leadership team through the preparation of monthly dashboard reflecting SKu wise financial, production & operational KPI’s and flagging abnormalities, hands-on collaboration with the production team
  • Ensure high team engagement levels through capability enhancement (training need analysis), coaching and mentoring sessions ( formal and informal), development plans and enhancement of skills ( on job and off-the-job trainings).

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and/or Accounting
  • CA or CPA qualification; statutory accounting experience preferred
  • At least 5 years post qualification experience with experience in managing a team of a minimum 5 staff or more accounting and management roles
  • MNC, FMCG experience preferred
  • Solid analytical/functional skills. Ability to connect the dots/see the big picture without losing sight of details.
  • Business process efficiency mindset
  • Strong commercial, operation and financial awareness, monitoring and coordination and budget ownership
  • Internal control understanding
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven record of internal/external stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated people management skills
  • Good understanding of US GAAP, IFRS and Local standard
  • SAP and HFM knowledge
  • Change management experience coupled with good analytical abilities
  • Ability to establish clear responsibilities for action against clear priorities
  • Perseverance and resilience in the pursuit of goals in confronting situations
  • Building cross-functional, cross-divisional partnerships and hands-on application of situational leadership model
