Description
The Senior Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage stakeholder relationships, and support the company’s financial goals within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the Finance Shared Services functions.
- Review and approval of month end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and month end variance analysis.
- Ensure Mexico general ledger team close monthly accounts in accordance with corporate deadlines and with high degree of accuracy.
- Manage external tax relationships to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
- Manage and plan workload of General Ledger team, working in conjunction with the Corporate Tax team, to ensure all local statutory, financial statement and tax return requirements are met.
- Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to ensure smooth processing and fulfillment of customer orders
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance the external and internal customer experience
- Review and approve credit limits for new and existing customers, assess bad debt risk with the accounts receivable team, manage risk, monitor collections and flag any collections issues to corporate. Support team through new market expansion and increasing workload.
- Manage weekly payment runs for vendors, ensure invoices are approved in line with global expenditure policy. Support automation and IT projects for invoice processing.
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
- Manage the internal audit relationship with Corporate Internal Audit team.
- Leverage bilingual (Spanish and English) communication skills and act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding finance shared services in Mexico.
- Ensure that the Finance Shared Services Center operates effectively within the cultural and business context of Mexico.
- Leading ad-hoc local and global projects.
Qualification & Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both Spanish and English.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work through challenging and frustrating issues with a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail – accuracy is critical.
- High-energy individual with ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally and with global partners.
- Strong analytical skills.
Minimum education and work experience required:
- Qualified accountant with post qualification experience in business partnering, accounting and reporting.
- 10+ years’ experience working within a multinational, fast paced, environment with experience at senior manager level.
- Experience in managing a regional shared services center, with multi-function teams and reporting within corporate deadlines.
- Excellent commercial acumen and financial management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Strong ability to partner with and influence key senior stakeholders in Mexico and globally across the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving change and achieving results.
- Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management technique.
