Description
The Director, Treasury Operations and Treasury Systems is a key position in McKesson’s corporate treasury function with responsibility for leading the treasury operations team in managing and optimizing McKesson’s global liquidity. Other responsibility includes partnering with business units to develop payment solutions to enhance efficiencies and to manage and enhance our treasury systems and tools.
Key Responsibilities
Global Liquidity Management
- Monitor and manage the company’s daily cash position, including cash concentration, wires, and investments
- Manage McKesson’s $4 billion commercial paper program, the main short-term debt tool that McKesson uses to meet domestic cash shortfalls
- Partner with international Treasury team to ensure daily cash needs are met outside the U.S. in a cost-efficient manner
- Evaluate short-term cash investment alternatives in various currencies and deploy optimal strategy for appropriate risk/reward balance
- Develop, maintain and improve our enterprise cash forecasting processes and capabilities, working in partnership with the Business Unit, Technology and other stakeholders
- Lead the process for estimating interest income and expense budget and forecast
Bank Account Management & Payment Operations
- Maintain McKesson’s global banking infrastructure, including opening and closing bank accounts, preparing KYC materials for banks, adding/removing banking services, and administering bank portals
- Rationalize bank account structure to optimize costs and operational efficiencies. Monitor and analyze bank account service charges
- Stay abreast of all key regulatory and tax changes in the U.S. and foreign markets that could impact the company’s banking infrastructure, payments landscape
- Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Foreign Exchange Transactions
- Transact all spot and forward FX trades as needed
- Partner with the Capital Markets group in transacting cross-currency swaps to support intercompany funding structures
Relationship/Business Management
- Proactively collaborate with all business units and corporate functions on liquidity and payments needs. Implement new bank technologies and products to gain operational efficiencies. Regularly partner with Tax, Legal, Accounting, AR, and AP
- Find ways to continuously improve processes, procedures and controls surrounding cash movement, bank balance/fee monitoring and other Treasury-related activities
- Maintain cash management banking and financial institution relationships
Merchant Processing & Corporate Card Program Management
- Serve as primary Relationship Manager for all merchant processing relationships globally, including American Express, Visa, and Mastercard
- Manage direct report responsible for merchant processing optimization projects, including interchange optimization, merchant processor consolidation, and detailed interchange reporting
Treasury Systems
- Maintain and improve the Treasury’s technology platform and tools (Kyriba) to support efficient and effective operations of the team
Qualification & Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 12+ years of professional work experience, with at least 4+ years in leadership or management roles
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or relevant field
Critical Skills
- Previous experience in Treasury operations preferred, with demonstrated knowledge in operations as they relate to cash process, bank infrastructure, investments, commercial paper issuance
- Previous experience in management / leadership roles
- Merchant processing experience preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills with experience creating and manipulating financial models using large datasets with ability to interpret and transform financial data into recommendations to senior leadership
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex business problems, conduct analysis, and identify well-reasoned solutions
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining strong business partnerships
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles
