Description

In this role, you would lead all financial aspects of Royal Caribbean Group’s supply chain, logistics, and travel services. This entails supporting Shared Services Operations executive leadership and business objectives through superior financial management, risk identification, and mitigation and controllership. You would manage the preparation, communication of forecasts and analysis for current financial periods and Operating and Capital Plan for future years. You would also serve as the primary finance interface for assigned business areas to other finance leaders among Royal Caribbean Group’s corporate staff and portfolio of brands. This role leads and influences effectively to help Royal Caribbean Group reach corporate results. You would need to rely on critical thought, possess a questioning attitude, and strive for a timely, precise, and concise communication to plan and accomplish goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as a finance partner to director, VP and SVP level leaders to help achieve operational priorities in an efficient and financially responsible way.
  • Leads assigned finance staff in day-to-day finance operations, quarterly and annual deliverables and ensures proper professional training and development.
  • Advises Royal Caribbean Group leadership on financial initiatives and cost optimization opportunities, aligned with corporate and departmental strategy.
  • Manages the preparation, analysis, and communication of departmental annual budget and monthly forecasts, operational impacts to Royal Caribbean Group’s cash position and future year plan.
  • Prepares the analysis and communication of capital plan, including review of business projects that impact operational costs, including company benefit and supporting business cases for assigned business areas.
  • Oversees monthly reporting to various Royal Caribbean Group accounting functions, including analysis of results vs. plan and forecast to accounting, corporate planning, capital planning and audit.
  • Ensures proper analysis and review of monthly and ad-hoc financial reporting.
  • Manages the team responsible for the department’s project / resource management / Accounting system.
  • Provides financial ownership of Royal Caribbean Group’s Travel Services team, including interfaces to Royal Caribbean Group’s global travel policy and Corporate Card Programs.
  • Trains and assists all operational leaders in proper and effective financial budgeting and estimating techniques.
  • Ensures contracts and vendor administration for assigned areas adhere to budgets and internal controls.
  • Manages and ensures GAAP compliance in recording of transactions.
  • Acts as subject matter expert on Sarbanes Oxley key control for assigned areas of Shared Services Operations.
  • Performs other duties as required to support Royal Caribbean Group’s complex global operations and special corporate projects.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from a 4 year University; MBA, CPA or CFA preferred.
  • 10+ years’ financial management experience for a large corporation.
  • Must be able to develop and implement executive level projects.
  • Expert level financial modeling, business acumen and ability to translate operational activities and investments to finance, accounting, and audit services teams.
  • Track record of successfully leading finance and planning teams in support of complex global operations.
  • Proven experience in leading or directing the work of department staff or project teams.
  • Capable of applying critical thought to complex problems and making independent decisions where authority allows and influencing outcomes otherwise.
  • Aptitude for translating complex, technical and operational subjects into clear, business-oriented communications.
  • Accepts accountability and manages execution of individual and team results at corporate and divisional level.
  • Demonstrates a wide degree of creativity with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly acquire strong knowledge and experience using Royal Caribbean Group’s portfolio of systems.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in a variety of the concepts, practices and procedures, including project and resource management.
  • Experience in leading or directing the work of department staff Capable of making independent decisions that impact Supply Chain and / or one of its business units.
  • Experience in negotiations and contract management.
  • Preferred: Understanding of global container freight and logistics operation.
