Associate Director, RTR

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Record to Report (RTR) function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead complex financial analysis and reporting, to support executive decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of RTR processes, leveraging technology and best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to ensure alignment and support for RTR initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements, and proactively manage financial risks
  • Ensures timely and accurate delivery of General Ledger accounting services in accordance with US GAAP
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the RTR team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Lead and manage large-scale projects, including system implementations and process transformations, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Encourage and drive innovation within the RTR function, exploring new technologies and methodologies to improve financial reporting and analysis.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with global finance teams to ensure consistency and standardization of RTR processes across regions.
  • Understands proper accounting treatment for all General Ledger accounting services provided by the Hyderabad Shared Service Center (SSC), including but not limited to compensation accounting, revenue recognition, expense accruals, lease accounting, cash accounting, and investments.
  • Ensures the Hyderabad General Ledger SSC staff executes all assignments in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA’s). Accounting services will include but are not limited to preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, compliance with auditor and SOX requirements, and providing ad hoc reporting to support accounting inquiries.
  • Provides daily direction to General Ledger staff, sets priorities, and ensures staff are aware of critical deadlines or changes in policy or procedures
  • Proactively identifies potential work bottlenecks or peaks in work volume and identifies plans to ensure team is able to meet agreed upon deadlines
  • Supports GBS transition team to migrate additional general ledger accounting services to Hyderabad SSC, which includes assisting with the creation of transition plans and training materials, development of SLA’s, and participation in stabilization efforts
  • Reviews, provides input, and signs off on R2R desktop procedures documented by General Ledger Hyderabad SSC staff
  • Participates in special projects as required by the Finance GBS leadership team including initiatives and priorities related to Upskilling, Employee engagement etc.
  • Interviews, hires, orients, trains, motivates, evaluates, disciplines, and when necessary, discharges subordinate personnel in conjunction with the Human Resources and Finance GBS leadership team.

Qualification & Requirements

Your Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, specifically in the areas of Investment accounting, revenue recognition, lease accounting, software capitalization and share based compensation
  • Previous experience working at a BIG 4 firm or multinational company presenting consolidated financial statements is a plus
  • knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of global finance operations and the ability to coordinate and collaborate across regions strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the RTR function.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address issues proactively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Education & Certifications

  • A Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Business is required with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred. Knowledge of Financial Services Industry preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent preferred
  • 13+ years of accounting experience, specifically in the Record-to-Report process, with a focus on leadership and strategic oversight.

Shift Timings

  • Work hours will be from 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST (01:30 PM to 10:30PM IST) and may include late hours and/or weekend support – during close.
