Description
As the Sr Manufacturing Staff Manager for Special Processes & Shared Services, you will work on-site in McAllen, TX, managing an operation, business unit, or part of a production facility to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety. You will ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards, and manage a team of salaried employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an operation, business unit, or part of a production facility to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
- Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
- Team management of salaried employees, excluding production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.
- Manage a small to medium team of senior professionals and others, requiring specialized knowledge within the function.
- Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and policy formulation.
- Interpret simple internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
- Stay informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
- Assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
- Offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and construct and provide recommendations.
- Use multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
- Communicate difficult concepts and may influence others’ opinions on particular topics.
- Guide others to consider a different point of view.
Qualification & Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Previous experience with Special Processes, Logistics areas, and repair of engine components.
- Experience in Flight Deck and Continuous Improvement.
