Description

This core purpose of this role is to lead the day-to-day administrative and business management efforts for Finance. The role will enable Finance and the Finance Executive Office to operate more efficiently and achieve Finance’s strategic objectives. This role will help to coordinate Finance’s strategic agenda, leadership routines, communication and other activities aligned with Finance’s strategic priorities in partnership with the senior leadership team. The role will have frequent interaction with the Finance leadership team, as well as leads in Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Technology, Data, Audit and the Governance and Controls Office. This position will help drive initiatives across Finance focused on four key areas: talent and organizational health, process improvement and automation, transformation and overall business management.

Finance Execution Director

Key Responsibilities

Business Execution and Enablement:

  • Work with Finance Execution and Transformation to implement the strategic agenda and develop executive leadership routines
  • Own Finance calendar of events and proactively manage all activities to ensure Finance’s leadership team operates effectively given its scale
  • Develop executive presentations and maintain high standards for execution, while demonstrating a deep understanding of Finance strategy and top priorities
  • Work closely with Finance leaders to drive ongoing progress against strategic and critical BAU activities.
  • Serve as primary liaison in the execution and project management of top priority initiatives within Finance to include defining logistics and approaches needed to operationalize business strategies, maintaining thorough project plans, and ensuring all participants are organized and aligned on execution plans; requires the ability to be a meaningful contributor to complex, cross-functional initiatives that accelerate performance and results
  • Lead the development and execution against ad-hoc requests from the Chief Financial Officer and the Head of Finance Execution and Transformation; generally related to gathering data to support decision making and preparing content to support targeted discussions.
  • Develop and train junior finance talent through ongoing mentorship and program management of the Finance Leadership Development track
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across finance, enterprise technology, data management to deliver automation solutions and improve processes

Process Improvement and Automation:

  • Work closely with finance teams across Controllers, FP&A, Corporate Treasury and Business Unit Finance to drive operational excellence 2. Evaluate opportunities for enhancements to the finance operating model, to drive efficiency, support continued growth, with strong focus on risk management and robust controls
  • Develop routines to capture, inventory and prioritization of process automation and reengineering
  • Serve as a conduit and product manager between finance and technology partners to evaluate and propose business cases for automation and advanced data analytics (AI/ML)
  • Exhibit subject matter expertise in Core Financial Systems, Platforms and Fintech

Finance Transformation:

  • Develop and lead portfolio of transformation initiatives to modernize Finance
  • Evaluate and lead organizational workforce strategy to build a scalable, efficient, high performing finance organization with centers of excellence and intentional location strategy
  • Strong partner and advocate for multi-year road map of financial technology ecosystem, with project management oversight around scoping, rationalization and implementation efforts

Qualification & Requirements

  • Strong academic credentials – college degree or equivalent education and related training or experience
  • 10+ years of experience within consulting, business management, or financial services organization with strong understanding of financial and regulatory functions within financial services and banking
  • Strong executive presence
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and influencing skills
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with colleagues at all levels and achieve goals without direct control over resources
  • Demonstrate an outstanding ability to communicate effectively and confidently and to work well in cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting, and achieving goals
  • Experience leading large-scale and complete initiatives within a finance organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a high level of attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficient in Essbase, OFSAA, Alteryx, Tableau,
  • Demonstrated understanding of business and technology organization, resources, priorities, needs and policies.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Background in financial services / banking industry
  • Project Management and/or Business Analyst experience
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to summarize complex, detailed analysis into executive-level summarize
