Description
The Center of Excellence (COE) Accounting Lead – FS AANZ is responsible for the delivery and execution of a range of Accounting Shared Services to all FS AANZ entities
The role will support CFO’s /CAO’s in auditing, financial reporting, compliance to IFRS/US-GAAP and local country GAAP accounting standards, SOX compliance, taxation, control processes, receivables and financial systems in FS AANZ countries to ensure the highest level of integrity and accuracy, and that the financial controls are pristine and deficiency-free. Identify and plan future state of the section, consider current and emerging best practices in delivery and performance of Accounting Shared Services functions.
Key Responsibilities
Major Challenges:
- The Accounting Services Lead has a clear understanding and focus on the operational and strategic objectives of the department.
- Responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities and leading the implementation of associated transformation initiatives to optimize the shared services function
- Operates effectively, even when things are not certain, or the way forward is not clear.
Operations:
- Understand the nature and scope of activities currently performed by the functional areas that will form part of the newly established Accounting Services’ team.
- Consulting with CFO’s/CAO’s and understanding their requirements and ascertain service expectations.
- Formalize agreed service levels and requirements (nature, scope, frequency, delivery, frequency, and timelines).
- Leading day to day accounting shared services activities for all FS AANZ entities.
- Ensure completion of daily trust accounting activities, other payment check and approval in ANZ transactive.
- Ensure transit accounts are monitored daily and clearing performed within agreed timeframe.
- Managing the monthly accounting closing activity to ensure timely and accurate completion consistent with CNH Industrial policies and calendars.
- Support internal and external audit activities. Ensure that year-end audits are effectively completed on a timely basis per corporate requirements.
- Review and approve journals prepared by the team. Ensure journal register is maintained and it comply with SOX requirements.
- Review and approve blackline reconciliations. Ensure reconciliations are prepared in timely manner, adequate support attached to reconciliations and quality is always maintained.
- Any other tasks and activities as may be assigned from time to time.
Governance
- Seeking to enhance internal controls and maintaining compliance with SOX requirements for internal controls over financial reporting.
- Maintain SOX controls and governance.
- Ensure accounting process and procedures are current and comprehensive.
- Liaise with various stakeholders (internal as well as external) to carry out the assigned task and activities.
- Partner with business to ensure compliance with regulations, optimize the impact arising from the compliance of regulations.
- Participating in establishing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with IFRS, USGAAP, RUSSIA GAAP, CHINA GAAP, UZBEKISTAN, and IND AS.
Continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to standardise processes, streamline processes and enhance systems capability in the delivery of shared services. Focus on stopping activities, eliminating duplication and re-work, and enabling automation.
- Identifying improvements to operational processes and execution to enhance shareholder value.
- Participate in SAP, Ambit, CDFS, ERP and other system implementations within FS AANZ Region to ensure finance and business needs are met.
Stakeholder engagement
- Work closely with the FS AANZ CFO, Global CAO, FS AANZ Management and the FS AANZ Country FP&A teams and the Managing Directors.
- Partner with business team to ensure compliance with regulations, optimize the impact arising from the compliance of regulations.
Leadership/Team Management
- Responsible for the management of 5 direct reports with specialist skills set. Ensure that the team has sufficient capacity and capability to sustainably deliver a high quality of Accounting shared services.
- Direct the Accounting team in the planning, implementation and review of work outcomes as well as participating as a key member of the Accounting team.
- Provide on-job training and development, coaching and mentoring of team members, promoting a culture of cross skilling and training.
- Review and evaluate workflows, systems, processes, and ways of working so that these are designed to efficiently meet agreed service levels and requirements.
Key Internal and External Relationships
- Internal: Internal auditors/Global Accounting and Reporting/FS AANZ Finance Team/Industrial Finance/ FS AANZ Management/Global Senior Management.
- External: External Auditors/Regulators/Vendors/Accounting bodies.
Qualification & Requirements
Education/Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
- CPA/CA certification or equivalent
- 6 – 10 years of previous experience in Finance/Accounting leading positions.
- Fluent English is mandatory
Essential experience and skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, Ind-AS, and Russia/China/Uzbekistan
- Extensive experience in SOX Internal Control and Compliance environment
- Extensive experience working with internal and external auditors
- Program, Project and resources management
- Ability to lead a team, coaching and mentoring of direct report managers and their staff
- Good knowledge of the MS Office package, with particular focus on MS Excel and MS Power Point
- Excellent communication skills, engage and communicate with clarity, vision, purpose, and impact
