Description

The Vice President of People Operations, Systems, and Total Rewards will be a key member of the People leadership team, driving critical functions that support the employee lifecycle and enable organizational growth. This leader will own and optimize People Operations processes, implement scalable systems and analytics capabilities, and design and execute competitive Total Rewards strategies, including equity administration. Based in either our New York City or Santa Monica headquarters, the role offers a unique opportunity to shape foundational practices for a company on a transformational growth journey.

Vice President, People Operations, Systems, and Total Rewards

Key Responsibilities

People Operations:

  • Lead and continuously improve People Operations processes to enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee satisfaction.
  • Develop and launch an AI-powered shared services product to provide seamless support for all employee inquiries and transactions.
  • Ensure adherence to employment regulations, partnering with legal and compliance teams as needed.

People Systems:

  • Drive the administration and optimization of People systems, including planning and launching a new HRIS within the next year.
  • Build enterprise-facing People analytics capabilities, creating dashboards to monitor key metrics such as attrition, engagement, and cost per hire.
  • Provide insights and trend analysis to inform strategic decision-making and organizational planning.

Total Rewards:

  • Design and implement competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract, retain, and engage top talent.
  • Work closely with our benefits brokers to build best in class healthcare benefits, including efficient and high touch administration for our employees
  • Oversee the administration of the company’s equity plan, working closely with the board of directors and internal finance teams.
  • Oversee the payroll team to ensure accurate payment and processing of our pay cycles – and compliance with local, state and federal filings
  • Ensure Total Rewards programs are compliant, equitable, and aligned with company values and goals.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Partner with senior leadership to align People strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across People Operations, Systems, and Total Rewards functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including finance, IT, legal, and other People leaders, to drive initiatives forward.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Experience: 12+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Systems, or Total Rewards, with significant leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Systems Expertise: Proven experience managing HRIS systems and leveraging technology to improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong background in People analytics, with a demonstrated ability to create insights from data to inform business decisions.
  • Total Rewards Leadership: Deep expertise in compensation and benefits strategy, including equity plan administration.
  • Operational Excellence: Track record of improving processes, implementing innovative solutions, and ensuring compliance.
  • Leadership Skills: Inspirational leader with the ability to build, manage, and mentor high-performing teams.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, HR, or related field) is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading People functions in technology companies or organizations preparing for an IPO.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools and solutions for People Operations.
