Description
We are seeking a driven, self-motivated Sr. Manager, Accounting to join our team working for a dynamic company in a fast-paced environment. This position will oversee the transition of accounting functions from decentralized departments to a centralized shared services center, including process analyses, data migration, training, and streamlining to improve efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform process analyses and prepare SOPs and flowcharts for key accounting functions
- Analyze existing accounting processes across different business units to identify areas for improvement and standardization
- Assist in the development of new streamlined accounting workflows for the shared services center, considering best practices and efficiency gains
- Communicate the transition plan to stakeholders across different business units, addressing concerns and managing expectations
- Develop and deliver training programs to equip staff with the necessary knowledge to execute all centralized functions
- Coordinate the transition of work streams from origination to destination
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the transition activities and generate regular reports to track progress
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls and identify potential risks
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA and/or MBA highly preferred
- 10+ years of experience with evidence of assuming roles of greater complexity, responsibility and accountability
- Manufacturing / heavy industry experience preferred
- Proven ability to analyze complex business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Project management skills and experience
- Cost accounting experience a plus
- Comprehensive experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Demonstrated understanding of internal accounting controls
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proactive attitude with team oriented, collaborative working style
- SAP and Hyperion experience required
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
