Description
We are seeking a Senior Manager – Accounting Shared Services to lead our Accounting Shared Services team, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer. This role is located either in our Blacks Harbour or Saint John, New Brunswick office.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all functions within the Shared Services team, including customer and vendor invoicing, collections and credit management, and vendor payments.
- Serve as the process owner of all Shared Services processes within Order to Cash and Procure to Pay, ensuring the creation and maintenance of thorough policy and process documentation.
- Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and standardizing practices across Cooke companies.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable leads in resolving invoice processing issues for customers and vendors within Cooke North America companies.
- Manage month-end cut-off processes for Shared Services, including the processing of sales and vendor invoices, and performing vendor reconciliations.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve team efficiency and ensure proper resource allocation.
- Oversee master data processes for the set up and maintenance of vendor and customer information, ensuring consistency and accuracy across multiple systems.
- Collaborate with the accounting teams to streamline processes and resolve inquiries as required.
- Assist the Cooke management team with reporting and analytical requests.
Qualification & Requirements
- Post secondary education in accounting or finance. CPA designation would be considered an asset.
- Experience efficiently leading a large team responsible for invoice processing,
- Experience leading successful process improvement projects, from initiation to implementation. Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement training considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, manage time efficiently and meet deadlines as required.
- Excellent communicator who can effectively influence others and productively resolve various issues.
- Dependability with a great work ethic, demonstrated initiative, ownership of issues and an exceptional attitude.
- Must be self-directed and able to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to travel outside of Canada.
