Description

In partnership with the Global Risk Management leadership team, the Senior Director, Business Operations and Strategy will be responsible for driving the strategic vision, managing functional global operating budget, driving risk responsible growth opportunities.

Sr Director, Business Ops & Strategy

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute Enterprise Services long-term strategic plan in alignment with organizational goals and market trends.
  • Conduct comprehensive functional analysis to identify emerging risks, opportunities, competitive threats, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define strategic priorities and initiatives that drive sustainable growth and profitability.

Financial Acumen:

  • Deep financial management expertise across financial planning, cost-to-serve, and supplier ecosystem oversight.
  • Functional leader for budget and spend management planning and adherence oversight – covering the scale of thousands of team members and hundreds of millions in annual operating spend.
  • Strategic partner and functional lead to Corporate Development/Partnerships/M&A team in the evaluation of investments or acquisitions.
  • Ability to direct spend management or re-capture initiatives including opportunity identification, instrumentation, and execution
  • Strategic workforce planning, site strategy, and oversight of backfill accreditation

Third Party Management:

  • Support strong operating discipline for curation of potential partners including onboarding, oversight, and third-party oversight for Global Risk Management.
  • Accountability to ensure expedited onboarding, assessment, and risk mitigation with functional partners including technology, cyber security, and privacy
  • Cost management engagement with Procurement and Risk Ecosystem Team

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the optimization of business processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity across Enterprise Services
  • Manage operating routines that facilitate decision-making, autonomy, leadership alignment, and team engagement, inclusive of staff meetings, operational reviews, leadership off sites, All Hands, etc. Set the agenda, participate in the meetings, document decisions, and communicate outcomes.
  • Implement performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations, reduce costs, and maximize resource utilization.

Communications Leadership:

  • Drive engagement across global Enterprise Services including team member communication channels – town halls, produced content, distributed/written content
  • Curate external engagements with Corporate Communications and CEO Communications teams

Cross-functional Leadership:

  • Foster collaboration and alignment across departments to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives and operational objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to functional teams, promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
  • Serve as a key liaison between executive leadership and departmental teams, facilitating communication and alignment on strategic priorities.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact the organization’s strategic objectives or operational efficiency.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address identified risks and ensure business continuity.

Qualification & Requirements

  • 10+ years of business planning, financial/investment banking, and operations relevant experience in a large-scale, heavily matrixed, high-growth global function or business.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive business growth and profitability – including organic and inorganic assessment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Data-driven and highly organized with superior project management skills.
  • Demonstrated learning agility and passion for taking on new challenges and executing with high velocity across time zones and geographies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially with storyboarding and deck writing for diverse audiences ranging from board members, senior executives, to broad-based team member groups.
  • Global and domestic travel – up to 30%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
