Connect Search is hiring a Shared Services Manager (AP & AR) in Milwaukee. This position offers a hybrid work from home schedule.

Shared Services Manager (AP & AR)

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the AR/AP team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the AR and AP functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Supervise the AR processes, including billing, collections, cash applications, and credit management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the AR aging and reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).
  • Ensure effective management of customer relationships and resolution of disputes or discrepancies.

Accounts Payable Management:

  • Oversee the AP processes, including invoice processing, payment disbursements, and vendor management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices and compliance with payment terms.
  • Manage vendor relationships, addressing inquiries and resolving payment issues.

Process Improvement and Optimization:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of AR and AP operations.
  • Drive automation initiatives and leverage technology to streamline AR and AP processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize and optimize AR and AP-related processes across the organization.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of AR and AP metrics and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual AR and AP reports for senior management.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of AR and AP data.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of AR and AP information.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes related to AR and AP.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as a key liaison between the AR/AP team and other departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide exceptional service to internal stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to AR and AP operations.
  • Partner with senior management to support strategic initiatives and financial planning.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role overseeing AR and AP functions within a shared services environment.
  • Proven experience in process improvement, financial reporting, and internal controls specific to AR and AP.
  • High proficiency with the use of MS office, especially Excel and Power-Point
  • Expertise in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas & functions)
  • Expertise in financial database, finance and statistical software
  • Working knowledge of large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (Oracle & SAP preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for Global Financial Consolidation
  • Financial and Operational reporting experience using Wands for Oracle and SAP, and Hyperion SmartView
  • Advanced working knowledge of analytical & presentation programs & tools (e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Power BI).
