Description
The Senior Manager, HR Operations (“Sr. Manager”) is responsible for the day-to-day management of people and processes essential to the full life cycle of people transactions in the US offices. In addition, the Senior Manager supports continuous improvement for HCM business processes resulting in increased efficiency, effectiveness and user experience for all internal clients. This role is responsible for coordinating project assignments and requests for resources from various senior leaders across HR for a team of US-based individual contributors who may support different sub-teams within Human Resources as needed. The Senior Manager regularly collaborates with HR Business Partners and the various Talent Centers of Excellence, and reports to the Director of HR Operations & People Analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides guidance, direction, and oversight of work assignments and results to a team of US-based individual contributors across different HR sub-teams. This includes overseeing daily workflow of the team and ensuring all HR related inquiries and reporting requests are resolved in accordance with established SLAs.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement that will results in efficiencies in processes, workflows and procedures with a specific focus on standardization, automation and the use of AI. Partners across the organization to make recommendations and drive approved changes.
- Triage technology related enhancements for the Talent organization. This includes partnering with various stakeholders including the Director, HRIS and the Director, HR Operations on technology enhancements. This may include developing a Workday Roadmap, gathering business requirements for Workday or other technology enhancements and program managing aspects of development.
- Partners closely with London-based counterpart ensuring all changes are compliant and support the business needs in Europe & Asia.
- Ensures data integrity of all data in the Workday system and ensures routine audits are completed and any and all data issues are analyzed and corrected in a timely manner. Additionally, oversees accurate maintenance of employee files including I-9s and background check reports.
- Owns the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes for all US-based partners and employees, ensuring a seamless and positive experience by collaborating closely with various stakeholders throughout the firm.
- Drives development and delivery of training programs and materials focused on HR process and procedures for HR professionals at all levels (including new hires and incumbents). Ensures HR process guides are accurate and up to date, working in partnership with others as needed. Develops HR knowledge articles and resources for frequently asked questions by peers and the firm and distributes/publishes ensuring they are accessed by target audience(s).
- Manages vendor/outside agency relationships such as background check processing, unemployment claims and employee employment verifications.
- Works with the Director, HR Operations and People Analytics and peers to execute on various strategic Human Resources initiatives.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with Workday or similar HRIS system required including experience conducting/overseeing system testing.
- A minimum of 7 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in operations, transformation and/or shared services.
- Minimum of 3 years of people management experience including management of remote team members.
- Preference for prior experience in professional services or law firms.
- Proven ability to identify, recommend and implement HR business process changes that result in enhanced efficiency, outcomes and/or user experience using available tools and technology.
- Understands how to review, analyze, and recommend business process changes or improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team of individual contributors including training, coaching, developing and engagement.
- Direct experience managing vendor relationships and demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate required.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed team environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint skills.
- Innate integrity and strong business judgment and decision-making abilities required.
- Demonstrated ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Familiarity with relevant employment and privacy laws.
