Mountain Yotas, GOAT Shocks, and a well-known rooftop tent company are now under one roof, forming a powerhouse in the off-roading, overlanding, and outdoor recreation industries: Terra Adventures, LLC. From custom 4×4 builds and high-performance suspension solutions to premium rooftop tents and camping gear, we are shaping the way people explore the outdoors and engage in their passions. We work hard, wheel hard, and while we take our business seriously we don’t take ourselves too seriously—this is a business built by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.
With our rapid growth and new acquisitions, we’re looking for a Head of Operations to keep the machine running smoothly, ensuring efficiency, synergy, and financial control across all three businesses as we pursue strong growth.
The Role
As Head of Operations, you’re the bridge between three brands—The rooftop tent company, Mountain Yotas, and GOAT Shocks.
Your mission?
Manage inventory and supply chain while keeping costs in control, keeping efficiency up, and making sure each business thrives both independently and as part of the bigger Terra picture. You’ll streamline operations, ensure resources are shared effectively, and establish standardized procedures—all while keeping our identity and culture intact. A well-performed role will lead to a strong financial picture for Terra overall and for the businesses individually.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Be the glue between all three companies, ensuring smooth communication and shared processes.
- Financial Oversight: Keep a tight leash on costs, optimize cash flow, and turn up the financial efficiency.
- Standardization & Efficiency: Implement best practices to maximize productivity across teams, from shop technicians to fabrication to sales, while managing inventory in a DTC business with long lead times for product.
- Resource Allocation: Helping Terra benefit from a “shared services” model, whereby marketing, sales, finance, legal/compliance, and HR leadership are centralized for the benefit of each business, resulting in the smart use of shared assets.
- Team Management: Work with department leads to improve shop efficiency, production output, and build employee morale and a strong culture.
- Growth Strategy: Help scale operations efficiently as the companies expand.
- Cross-Business Synergy: Ensure that the rooftop tent company, Mountain Yotas, and GOAT Shocks maintain their own identities while benefiting from shared strengths.
- People. You will initially be Head of People, ensuring personnel matters are managed and our people feel valued
Qualification & Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in operations leadership, preferably in automotive, off-roading, manufacturing, or outdoor industries.
- Proven ability to streamline processes, optimize costs, and increase efficiency.
- Strong ability to manage inventory through proper demand planning and supply chain management
- Experience managing teams, budgets, logistics, and multi-business operations.
- Ability to balance structure with flexibility—we’re not corporate, and we don’t want to be. We are serious about quality and business performance but we believe in work hard/play hard
- Strong leadership skills with a no-BS, get-it-done mentality.
- Understanding of off-road parts, suspension systems, or overlanding gear is a big plus. Time spent in a DTC e-commerce business model also an advantage
