Description

Project Managers are responsible for leading enterprise-wide, cross functional strategic initiatives. They lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and systems, systems integration and upgrades, process reengineering, hardware and infrastructure upgrades and deployments, they also facilitate programs. Our shared services organization is increasingly leaning into an agile mindset, as well as product management, therefore this role will need both traditional project management, as well as agile methodology experience. This project manager role is a key member of the Enterprise Project Management Office in the Chief Information Office organization alongside the Enterprise Architecture function and Transformation Office. The candidate in this role will drive medium and large, complex technology projects that enable our organizations transformation and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilize and motivate project teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, execute with limited information and ambiguity, and apply an elevated level of detail to project management and communications.
  • Analyzes customer requirements, evaluates new technology, presents recommendations, plans test and implementation schedules for introduction of new systems, networks, hardware, software, or applications.
  • Plans projects, manages project resources, manages project budget, actuals, accruals, and forecasts, identifies risks and issues and implements mitigation strategies, and reports on project obligations.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry practices, trends, and applications, and is considered a highly reliable and trusted resource.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching and consulting to development staff and project managers on project management processes and techniques.
  • Advance our product management and product ownership journey by working closely with teams to collaboratively establish effective product roadmaps.

Qualification & Requirements

What Is Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s Degree: Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience managing Information Technology Systems projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years of said Information Technology Systems experience managing projects or products using hybrid or agile frameworks (e.g. SAFe, Scrum).
  • Thrives working on a team and recognizes our best results are created from the strengths we share collectively.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent conflict resolution, team building, motivational and discussion skills.

  • Explaining technical information to non-technical colleagues.
  • Results oriented, self-motivated and proactive.
  • Demonstrates a high level of maturity and integrity with consistency.

What Is Desired

  • Minimum of 2 years of strong proficiency in traditional project management methodologies.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing projects in a mixed portfolio is desirable.
  • Agile certifications (e.g. SAFe, PMI-ACP, CSM, CSPO) are upon hire.
  • Design thinking approach for framing and solving problems.
