The Deputy Director, Dublin Region Homeless Executive will report to the Director and work with the Executive Team responsible for ensuring delivery of integrated services for homeless people throughout the Dublin Region.

Key Responsibilities

Operating in a challenging environment, the role holder will work to continuously improve the quality and type of responses to prevent, protect and progress those at risk of, or experiencing homelessness in the Dublin Region.

They are also responsible for developing and maintaining partnership and co-ordination between the relevant statutory bodies involved in homeless services and researching causes of and trends in homelessness and developing innovative responses aimed at addressing homelessness in a responsive and focused manner with all stakeholders.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Have excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Have ability to think and plan strategically;
  • Be highly motivated and have a proven track record at a senior management level;
  • Have an understanding of all aspects of homelessness and knowledge of the role of the statutory and voluntary sectors in relation to homelessness;
  • A high level of competence in procurement, financial management and experience of oversight of major budgets and funding allocations,
  • Have a proven track record on the delivery of major projects;
  • Have ability to analyse policy critically;
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Be innovative and have a career record that demonstrates a high level of competence in the management of staff, a customer orientation, conceptual and analytical thinking, initiative and the management skills necessary to lead and foster change, while optimising the contribution to the achievement of organisational goals and objectives;
  • Have an ability to motivate, co-ordinate and integrate several different agencies towards the achievement of stated objectives;
  • Have good knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations, the implications for the organisation and the employee, and their application in the workplace,
  • Have an understanding of the role and duties of managers in safety management in the workplace
