Regional Head Global Finance Services

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight and Leadership

• Implement a globally integrated operating model for GFS in North America, Poland, and Finland, that acts as a front office team and collaborates closely with a centralized middle office (Business Operations Support) in Brussels and an offshore back office (BPO partner).
• Oversee Record to Report processes, with a focus on IFRS compliance, fixed assets accounting, and statutory requirements in all regions.

Customer and Stakeholder Relations

• Closely collaborate with peer GFS entities to bring the partnership with country management, BU, Group Control, BPO, and other regional and global stakeholders to the next level. Ensure alignment with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Team Leadership and Development

• Develop and mentor regional managers, ensuring consistent leadership practices and alignment with Umicore and Umicore Finance vision.
• Foster a collaborative and service-oriented culture across the global team.
• Performance management, Continuous Improvement and Digitization
• Monitor and report performance against KPI’s to ensure accuracy and timeliness, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Drive process optimization, automation, and technology adoption to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Regional and Global Collaboration

• Act as a key liaison with corporate functions, external auditors, service providers, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and alignment.
• Participate in global initiatives and projects to further drive GFS to excellence and a positive net promotor score.

Qualification & Requirements

• You combine a Master degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with at least 10 years of experience in accounting and Finance, preferably in an industrial environment with leadership roles in shared services or global finance
• You have strong expertise in IFRS and local GAAP (knowledge of Polish, Finnish GAAP is a strong plus)
• You are proficient in SAP and other enabling digital finance technologies
• You have proven experience in managing multi-region shared services, including transitions and transformations
• You think strategically and have a focus on results and execution.
• You possess excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• You are flexible to travel regularly to Poland, Finland and North America.
