Description
The role will oversee the delivery of HR services, ensuring seamless operations and compliance with strict regulatory frameworks inherent to the financial sector. This role involves managing employee lifecycle processes, payroll, benefits management, and HR systems, with a focus on process improvement, technology advancement, and enhancing employee experience. The leader in this role must ensure alignment between HR service delivery and the bank’s strategic priorities while upholding regulatory compliance and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement the HR Shared Services strategy, aligned with the bank’s overall HR and business objectives.
- Lead a high-performing team, ensuring skills development to meet the specific needs of the banking sector.
- Collaborate with the COEs to support the bank’s people strategy, focusing on compliance, efficiency, and innovation.
HR Operations:
- Manage end-to-end HR operations; payroll, benefits administration, employee records from on-boarding to off-boarding, staff licensing and HR systems.
- Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of payroll and benefits, with strict adherence to financial regulations.
- Oversee employee data integrity and reporting, ensuring compliance with banking and financial industry standards.
Process Improvement and Automation:
- Drive operational efficiency by implementing process improvements and leveraging automation to streamline workflows.
- Standardize HR processes across Asian regions while balancing local compliance needs.
- Monitor and evaluate processes to ensure alignment with financial sector regulatory requirements.
Technology and Systems:
- Lead the implementation and optimization of HR systems, tailored to the banking industry’s needs.
- Ensure integration of HR systems with other bank-wide platforms for seamless reporting and analytics.
- Monitor emerging HR technology trends, focusing on tools that enhance compliance, data security, and service delivery.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure full compliance with labor laws, banking regulations, and data privacy standards.
- Mitigate operational risks related to HR services by implementing robust controls and audits.
- Maintain employee data security in accordance with financial sector cybersecurity standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for HR service delivery to banking leaders, auditors, and regulators.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal HR teams, regulatory bodies, and external service providers.
- Partner with business leaders to address workforce-related challenges and opportunities specific to the banking industry.
Change Management:
- Promote a culture of compliance, innovation, and service excellence within the HR Shared Services team.
Qualification & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in HR is a plus.
Experience:
- Min 10 years of HR Operations experience , with at least 6 years in a leadership role within the banking or other fields
- Proven expertise in managing HR operations in a regulated, regional environment.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of HR processes, systems, and regulatory requirements specific to the banking industry.
- Experience with financial industry compliance standards.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms (e.g. Oracle) and payroll systems.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on mitigating operational risks.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
