Description
The role sits within the Pricing Shared Services organization which is responsible for pricing across all Amazon Stores and their formats, earning our Customers’ trust with consistently low prices. We publish 5+ billion weekly prices for 20+ Amazon formats (Retail, third-party Sellers, Amazon Fresh, Promotions, Amazon Business, and others), own new pricing strategies and deliver them reliably at scale, and prevent errors in our prices. We own a central pricing infrastructure and federate it for our client formats, and utilize ML to automate our pricing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be the product leader that will envision, build and deliver high-performance, fault-tolerant capabilities to support high-fidelity prices without human intervention, across the breadth of our strategies, products and channels. You will define metrics that structure the ambiguities of new businesses that Amazon launches worldwide, and you will communicate your emerging vision to their senior leaders. You will make strategic decisions to invest in new software versus new ways to leverage operations. You will work with engineering teams to find innovation opportunities that reduce our errors as we price at the scale of billions of prices.
This role is for you if you have a passion for leading the design and creation of software products that make real-time business decisions and self-improve the quality of their results. You are highly analytical, and will work across the different pricing strategy teams, research teams, our business stakeholders and other teams across Amazon to prioritize automation features, influence up and across the organization and synthesize a variety of technologies and capabilities into a high quality change management experience that improves prices across the board.
A day in the life
On a typical day, you will talk to several customers, define and prioritize the roadmap, deep dive to root cause a customer issue, release the latest new feature, define and report business metrics, discuss radical new approaches to building and operating at scale.
