Description
The GBSC (Global Business Services Center) is Mastercard’s shared services organization supporting multiple business units globally. The Manager, Legal Operations and Compliance is responsible for leading a team within the broader GBSC Legal Services function and is accountable for delivering positive stakeholder experiences and efficient business results. Reporting to the Director, Legal Operations & Compliance Services, this position will be responsible for guiding and executing end-to-end activities within an assigned portfolio of work.
Key Responsibilities
- This role will primarily perform Bank Account activities including reviewing agreements and Terms & Conditions related to bank account opening and maintenance, preparing Board Resolution/POA/Delegation of Authority letters, and preparing Director and Company Secretary Appointment and Resignation letters.
- Coordinate efforts across multiple teams such as the GBSC, Law Department and Mastercard Corporate Secretary
- Hire, develop, and guide a team of legal and compliance professionals performing bank account activities or other legal services described below
- Take the lead on addressing issue escalations, coordinating work assignments, and managing prioritization of requests
- Monitor performance and manage team to ensure Service Level Objectives are met or exceeded
- Execute plans for driving process standardization and best practices through change management initiatives and performance metrics

Qualification & Requirements
- Lawyer with a Company Secretary certificate
- In addition to Corporate Secretary experience, familiarity with any of the following areas is a plus: contract lifecycle management, compliance monitoring and alert screening, litigation support, responding to KYC requests, and other legal support functions
- Demonstrated ability to manage workloads involving tasks of varying priority and complexity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on collaborating with key legal and business stakeholders
- Ability to organize, track, analyze and identify insights about large sums of detailed data
- Experience initiating and managing legal process improvements in response to process metrics and stakeholder feedback
- Successful track record of leading and developing a team of contract administrators and individual contributors performing legal and compliance activities
