Programme Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • The Program Manager is a key leadership role within Auckland Transport, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Group Shared Service initiatives
  • The role builds and leads cross-functional (matrix) programme teams, responsible for cost effective and timely project planning, procurement, communication and engagement, delivery, commissioning, and handover.
  • The role positively and proactively represents the program internally within AT and Council Family and externally with mana whenua, partners, stakeholders, media, and the wider Auckland community.
  • To be successful, at times the Program Manager will work in an adaptable and fluid way on initiatives to enable collaboration, cross-skilling and development within a specific program and also within the wider business. This may involve short-term projects in virtual teams and/or the adoption of adaptable work practices.

Qualification & Requirements

As a recognized subject matter expert in Program Management, you will bring:

  • 15+ years extensive Programme delivery experience (preferably within a Technology space)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or MSP or equivalent industry recognised qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels
  • Experience of leading large cross functional teams
  • A good understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements
  • A high level of resilience and persistence with the ability to manage challenging, ambiguous and complex issues logically
