Description
The Director partners with the client to develop financial strategy and directs the work of the delivery team to execute on it. They identify new opportunities for account augmentation and serve as the main point of contact and liaison between the client and delivery team. The Director will play an essential role in achieving E78’s mission by integrating expertise in financial management and performance improvement to meet client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Analysis (10%)
- Design and structure templates for data collection and analysis.
- Conduct in-depth research of internal intellectual capital and external benchmarks.
- Lead interviews with key stakeholders to gather qualitative insights.
- Consolidate and organize collected data for actionable insights.
Analytics & Presentations (20%)
- Develop hypotheses based on data analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Create robust financial and operational models to support business transformation initiatives.
- Conduct benchmarking and process analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Synthesize qualitative data from interviews and workshops into actionable insights.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations for clients, communicating findings and recommendations effectively.
Process Re-Design & Implementation (40%)
- Lead and execute finance process improvement initiatives across key areas such as Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, FP&A, and Treasury.
- Spearhead finance transformation efforts in areas including finance strategy, operating model improvement, organizational assessments, shared services/outsourcing, merger integration, and FP&A optimization.
- Manage the design and implementation of process enhancements to drive efficiency, scalability, and value across the finance function.
Team Leadership & Management (20%)
- Provide leadership in the planning and execution of Advisory engagements, ensuring work plans, timelines, and resources are managed effectively.
- Oversee and mentor project teams, offering guidance on business process analysis, future state process design, data analysis, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Play a key role in the professional development of staff, including resource allocation, performance management, and career coaching.
Intellectual Capital Development & Proposal Support (10%)
- Contribute to the development of intellectual capital, including frameworks, methodologies, and thought leadership.
- Assist in the preparation of client proposals, leveraging expertise to support business development efforts and grow the practice.
Qualification & Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
- An MBA or other relevant advanced professional qualification is highly desirable.
- 10+ years of consulting and/or industry experience, with a focus on finance transformation, process improvement, M&A, and organizational change.
- Finance Function Efficiency & Effectiveness: Benchmarking, process analysis, and redesign; financial modeling; operational improvements; finance operating model design and implementation.
- Key Financial Processes: Experience in Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Budgeting, Forecasting, and Management Reporting.
- M&A: Experience in financial due diligence, financial modeling (i.e., synergy analysis), integration planning, and post-merger integration.
- Shared Services & Outsourcing: Design and implementation of shared services models; business process outsourcing (BPO), including outsourcing business case development and vendor selection facilitation.
- Proven ability to manage complex engagements, provide strategic direction, and deliver results in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, with the ability to direct, mentor, and develop junior staff.
- Candidates who reside near E78’s regional hubs in the metro areas of Oak Brook, IL or New York, New York, are required to come to the office 3 days a week.
- The salary range in Illinois and New York is $175,000 – $220,000, which includes a base salary and bonus, and will be based on experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex and large data sets.
- Proficient in financial modeling, valuation, and accounting principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with financial software, such as Power BI and Adaptive is a plus.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
