Description
We are looking for a certified expert with in-depth IFRS accounting and accounting systems knowledge acting as accounting technical authority in guiding and unifying accounting process, overseeing statutory audit across all applicable Yokogawa European entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising accounting team members based in SSC and providing technical knowledge to the accountants in Yokogawa’s European entities:
- Guide, train, and share knowledge.
- Investigate and execute process improvements or best practices between accounting teams.
- Standardization of accounting processes.
- Determine required knowledge level and skills in the accounting area.
- Prepare and maintain training material and train accountants to keep technical knowledge and skills up to standard.
- Supervise and coordinate contacts with internal and external auditors to facilitate effective and efficient auditing. Create and organize audit trail documents for auditing purposes.
- Oversee the quality of output, guiding and controlling to maintain high standard quality on accounting entries and oversee auditing activities:
- Quality control and follow up action based on the analysis of CRC after month end closing.
- Ensure accounting entries made are in line with Accounting Manual and approval flows.
- Ensure changes to global accounting manual are explained, implemented and followed up by local accountants and SSC accountants.
- Address potential compliance issues proactively.
- Provide feedback to Finance members based on accounting review outcome, to improve quality.
- Participates in the selection process and the onboarding of the new finance team members.
- Supports the performance management process for the finance team as accounting technical authority.
Qualification & Requirements
- Highly motivated and flexible person, interested to work in an international oriented company.
- Ability to understand cultural differences and to efficiently collaborate with multiple cultural environments.
- Very good communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Capacity to train, mentor and develop the team members working in accounting.
- English at advanced level
- Bachelor level in accounting and or auditing.
- More than 10 years of work experience. 5 years’ experience in Big 4 is strongly preferred.
- Public certified accountant with thorough IFRS knowledge.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) and audit frameworks.
- Previous similar experience represents an advantage.
