Description
The Finance Shared Services Lead will be responsible for building and overseeing the shared services finance operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Serving as the leader and ambassador for Shared Services, this role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a customer service orientation. This role is based in India and will partner closely with the global Finance team to solidify and mature our SSC globally. It will report to Visa’s Chief Accounting Officer and Global Head of Shared Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring First Time Quality: Uphold Visa Finance’s high standards for compliance, process excellence, quality, and integrity.
- Shared Services Center Management: Manage and be accountable for global Finance & Sourcing shared services centers. Foster a customer service culture within the centers. Identify trends and significant issues, recommend and implement solutions.
- Strategic Planning: Enhance efficiency through centralizing operations, fostering strategic partnerships to deliver cost savings, and driving value creation through the implementation of shared services strategies aligned with Visa Finance goals.
- Operations Management: Deliver streamlined, standardized, and effective operational finance processes. Hire exceptional talent, develop team skills, and use balanced scorecards to communicate performance.
- Shared Services Transition Management: Build and manage the capability of receiving services from sending functions including knowledge transfer, training, and transition of services to the centers.
- Performance Management: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation, governance, strategic insights, and data management to empower the finance function. Leverage technology and data to enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop, cultivate and maintain close relationships with subfunction leads, COEs and across Finance leadership team. Be aware of their expectations and establish clear SLAs and matrix of responsibilities on the operations in the SSC.
- Global Leadership: Provide leadership to the India SSC as well as the rest of the SSC globally, including providing deep leadership to dotted line functions.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field, MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
- 18 years of experience in Finance, including 10 in shared services, operations management, or a similar field. Big-four accounting firm experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leading and establishing cross-functional shared services teams.
- Robust decision-making and analytical skills. Strong command of financial, market and consumer data with the ability to grasp complex and detailed issues.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and other relevant Finance software tools.
- Project Management Professional, Certified Shared Services Professional, and Six Sigma Certifications (Optional but Beneficial).
- Ability to operate at a global level and lead the centralization high-volume, transactional activities, ensuring first time quality, integration, and efficiency across different regions.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Experience of working in a global matrix organization with the ability to navigate complex structures and empower decision-making locally.
- Experience of leading change programs within a business and has built and led a high performing team on a journey of cultural and transformational change.
- Proven ability to build and build and maintain strong relationships with Executive internal and external stakeholders.
- Leads and inspires teams to adapt to changing business environments and priorities. Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges effectively.
