Description
The purpose of this role is to lead the Finance Operations team and to deliver finance operations strategy, objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The role holder is responsible for the development and implementation of the overall operational management strategy including technology, people and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers, ensuring feedback is sought and acted upon to continually improve the service provided
- Ensure the right subject matter experts are in place and attached to projects so they can provide input and challenge on changes that will have an impact on Finance Operations
- Ensure an effective Control Framework in place, takes ownership of any issues and gets them resolved
- Work with Finance Transformation to drive continuous improvement and automation of manual processes as well as contributing to wider Finance transformation initiatives for an improved future target operating model
- Recommend new and innovative solutions tailored to be market leading within Finance Operations
- Bring experience in target operating model and process design & development by using strong quantitative and qualitative skills to identify complex problems, consider them analytically and conceptualise solutions
Qualification & Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with 10+ years’ experience
- Experience within an Insurance Carrier
- Ability to run larger teams 70+ (including offshore resources) and work virtually
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of all relevant Compliance and Regulatory rules and procedures
- The ability to interpret and analyse complex data and financial information, and using this to make informed decisions
