The Head of Global Finance Services (GFS) R2R/FC (Record-to-report / Financial Controlling) is responsible for the global execution of the R2R/FC finance activities and processes performed by GBS Sites. He/she is further in charge of definition, coordination, and alignment of process R2R/FC execution / guardrails (in alignment with the Head of GFS) between the R2R Service Delivery Managers and Senior Financial Controllers and regional / cluster leadership. He/She coordinates with his/her functional counterparts (Functional GFS leaders) to create an organizational and functional setup according to the overall DBS strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Globally responsible for R2R/FC process and activities execution of GBS
  • Responsible and accountable for functionally leading the R2R Service Delivery Managers and Senior Financial Controllers
  • Responsible for R2R/FC service quality provided by GBS
  • Lead the design and implementation of functional transformation initiatives
  • Accountable for R2R/FC process alignment with DBS overall strategic objectives
  • Responsible and accountable for the right staffing of the Service Delivery Manager in their functional area
  • Ensures standardization of the process across all GBS Sites
  • Execute quality control measures and support regular audits to ensure compliance
  • Align service delivery with overall business objectives
  • Drive efficiency and productivity within his/her scope of responsibility
  • Ensure adherence to yearly set budget by DBS leadership and head of GFS
  • Monitor and report consolidated R2R/FC key operational KPIs on a periodic basis to relevant stakeholders
  • Regularly communicate with regions / clusters to understand their needs and expectations
  • Contribute to a working environment and culture which drives the desired mindset of all Service Delivery Managers and Team leaders
  • Enforce world class trends, and best practices within R2R and Financial Controlling with the goal of ultimately driving cost reduction and quality enhancement
  • Drive growth and ensure career paths for GBS Finance organization
  • Define performance and service level goals at the start of the year in coordination with the Head of GBS and the Head of GFS
  • Point of escalation for Service Delivery Managers
  • Point of escalation for cluster CFOs

Qualification & Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
  • Project/ Process management certification preferred
  • 10+ years work experience in Finance GBS, 5+ years of leadership with ability to manage senior stakeholder and employees in an international context
  • Strong experience in the Shared Services / Service Delivery organizations
  • Strong understanding of R2R and FC processes
  • Experience with Finance / Accounting ERP systems
  • Experience with project/ process management
  • Experience in a controlling leadership role; Preferred CPA certification and experience in a CPA role; Knowledge and practice in IFRS is an advantage
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to understand and implement strategic initiatives that align with the business’s objectives and goals
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management principles, accounting end-to-end processes as well as business & financial controlling
  • Project/ Process Management: Skills to initiate, plan, execute, control, and close the work of a team to achieve specific goals
  • Change Management: Navigating and managing organizational change
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and manage potential risks in the business
  • Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Implementing, tracking, and analyzing KPIs to measure overall performance and progress
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively with various senior (internal) stakeholders
  • Language competencies: Fluent in English (business, negotiations, etc.)
  • Preferred strong business acumen
  • Leadership: The ability to lead, inspire, and influence people, often across departments or geographically dispersed locations.
  • Cross-functional Communication: Communicating effectively across various departments and coordinating efforts.
  • Problem Solving mindset: A keen ability to solve complex problems, often requiring innovative thinking and solutions.
  • Ethics: Understanding the ethical aspects of business and the importance of maintaining high ethical standards.
