Description

The Head of Procurement, Global Tail spend is a leadership position responsible for overseeing, optimizing and executing the tail spend strategies within GPO (Global Procurement Organization). This role is pivotal in ensuring that procurement operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & implement strategic initiatives for managing tail spend, streamlining and automating the procurement processes to reduce costs
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse, global team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture and driving process design and execution initiatives to future-proof the function
  • Drive tail spend catalogue efficiencies at scale
  • Engage and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., finance, operations, IT, suppliers, industry experts) to ensure procurement strategies support overall business objectives
  • Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement process and shared services, analyze data, benchmark against industry best practices and report on performance to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring financial targets are met
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the procurement processes and shared services remain competitive and effective
  • Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and prepare & present reports to senior leadership

Qualification & Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in team management
  • Experience in supply chain
  • Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  • MBA
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements
