Description

This is a management position at METTLER-TOLEDO, LLC reporting to the Global Trade Compliance Manager. This position is responsible for supporting the Global Trade Compliance Manager with defining and executing Mettler-Toledo’s worldwide trade compliance strategies and managing the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) Shared Services team. The position reports into the Global Trade Compliance Manager as part of the company’s Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) organization. The Senior Import/Export Manager Americas will support the Global Trade Compliance Manager in engaging with Mettler-Toledo’s business units to implement and enforce global trade compliance requirements. A successful candidate for this position should be a knowledge leader in the area of trade compliance and be able to support in the development of corporate strategies for trade compliance.

Sr. Import/Export Trade Compliance Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Mettler Toledo’s duty drawback program
  • Lead the company’s CTPAT program serving as the CTPAT Point of Contact
  • Lead the trade compliance shared services team in supporting internal businesses. Be able to perform all shared services functions as needed including but not limited to, product classification, FTA assessment, broker management, audits, exports, and more.
  • Keep informed of all new developments relative to trade compliance. Evaluate and assess changes. Prepare input for updates in procedures as required by these changes
  • Support the global trade compliance training program. Design training appropriate for attendee positions and background. Assist with training preparation and delivery of training.
  • Assist in developing and coaching team members
  • Work as a contributing member on cross-functional and multinational teams to ensure trade procedures are in place and being followed
  • Successfully interact with various government agencies
  • Support the import/export compliance audit program per internal guidelines and country-specific governmental guidelines
  • Support preparations for global customs audits
  • Collect and scrub trade report data (US, CA, MX) to ensure accuracy
  • Support the development of the global strategy for automating and streamlining global trade compliance activities (these would be global activities)
  • Identify tasks and support automation of global trade compliance activities (these would be GTC team activities)
  • Support evaluation of outsourcing opportunities of trade compliance activities
  • Assist in the creation and adoption of standardized compliance processes
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in compliance, logistics and supply chain management, with a demonstrated record of success and increasing responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree is a requirement. Degree concentration in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration is preferred. MBA degree is preferred but not required
  • Customs Brokerage license strongly desired
  • Knowledge of SAP ECC system desired
