Description

Shared Services is hiring a transformative leader to become our next Senior Director, Infrastructure & Capital Projects to oversee strategic development and provide expert advice while overseeing the implementation and execution of capital projects that are vital to the continued success and innovation of our PavCo venues. This role will be pivotal in ensuring our venues are ready to host world class events such as Grey Cup, Invictus Games and FIFA World Cup 2026.

Senior Director, Infrastructure and Capital Projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops the strategy for long-term capital planning acting as the lead on all projects with budgets deemed significant in nature.
  • Operationalize planning schedules, acquiring Government support.
  • Provides regular reporting and updates defining project progress, problems, and solutions, and assessment of results to the COO and Executive Committee.
  • Works with the Executive on PavCo-wide initiatives including; scoping, analysis, planning and execution
  • Provides leadership to the Capital Projects Team and the Facilities Departments at both facilities; coaches, mentors, and motivates project team members and contractors.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders, related public sector organizations and industry leaders.
  • Monitors and manages budget, schedule and quality control parameters. Defines project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Reviews, negotiates, and provides recommendations on, but not limited to, requests for proposal or information, construction contracts, construction change orders, purchase orders.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, including the identification of potential risks and threats, as well as the development of contingency plans.
  • Participates in the negotiation of claims from contractors and consultants.
  • Participates on selection committees for project procurements.
  • Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering and a Professional Engineer designation.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Facilities and Operations Management with experience working on large scale projects with building operating systems and mechanical services design, and/or large-scale capital projects.
  • 2 to 3 years in a senior leadership role, leading multiple direct and indirect reports.
  • 5 years’ experience working with sustainability related projects and goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Actively championing diversity, equity and inclusion to create an environment of belonging.
