HARMAN is undergoing a transformation within the businesses and functions that will enable us to grow ambitiously. We need to look at our people, processes and technology and HR is determined to play an active role in those initiatives. In order to execute HARMAN’s strategy, we must examine what we are doing today and what needs to change in organization design, processes and systems so we can support the growing needs of the business.

Reporting to the VP HR Transformation & Organizational Strategy, as the Senior Director, HR Delivery Center you will oversee the strategic and operational aspects of setting up and leading the newly formed HR delivery Center for HARMAN. This is a leadership position responsible for managing and optimizing the delivery of HR services and processes to the organization and involves a combination of strategic planning, leadership, and operational management.

Senior Director, Global HR Delivery Center

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for HR Delivery Center function that aligns with the overall HR & Organizational strategy.
  • Partner with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT), corporate functions and divisions to build the delivery center teams to support HR and HARMAN employees globally.
  • Drive initiatives to improve HR service delivery, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage the budget for HR delivery center and partner with finance for annual financial planning activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the HR Delivery Center team, which may include HR operations, administration, and some HR Technology processes.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, regulations and best practices across multiple countries and regions.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to measure the effectiveness of HR services.
  • Build and lead a high-performing HR delivery center team.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and quality within the department.
  • Evaluate and implement HR technology enhancements within Workday working closely with our HR Technology leader and Digital teams and identify automation or digital improvements to enhance service delivery.
  • Chairs joint governance forums with the CHRO and senior Business Leadership too ensure transparency in service delivery operations, performance, and cost.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains critical customer relationships to anticipate, plan, address and resolve complex escalated issues.
  • Stay up to date on HR trends and best practices for process or technology improvement opportunities.

Qualification & Requirements

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Business or other related fields
  • Minimum 10 years’ leadership experience in operational delivery with at least 3-5 years HR experience
  • Working knowledge of multiple Human Resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organization development, change management, employee relations, diversity, and others.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen with appreciation for the connection between talent propositions and business results
  • Experience in planning and executing large-scale transformation initiatives from the envisioning stage through to implementation.
  • Execution and operational excellence with deep experience and skills in driving cost, quality, and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to seek external best practices, industry research and benchmarking to identify and prioritize new sources of value.
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership skills in developing high- performing teams.
  • Ability to define and communicate annual goals and develop action plans needed for accomplishing plans.
  • Ability to present data and recommendations in a meaningful way.
  • Articulate, confident and fluent communication skills.
  • Experience working directly with senior business executives in an advisory capacity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across multiple regions and cultures.
