Description

The Senior Director of Compensation leads the core compensation team as a subject matter expert to ensure an equitable and competitive total compensation framework at Barings. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards and HR Shared Services, the Senior Director supports the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of compensation programs. Additionally, the senior director will lead and develop a team of compensation professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expertise in designing compensation programs including the communication and implementation of new plans and programs
  • Lead year-end compensation processes, market research, process design and development and recommend customized solutions aligned to the strategic requirements of the businesses
  • Review market benchmark surveys; analyze competitive market data and develop recommendations for updates to job architecture, salary structures and incentive targets as appropriate
  • In-depth technical and analytical compensation expertise with a strong understanding of the relationship between compensation and achieving business objectives, and the motivation and retention of employees
  • Develop proactive relationships and partner with HR and finance teams, business leaders and line managers across the organization
  • Partner with HRIS to ensure that the HR systems meet compensation needs and are updated to reflect changes to job profiles, salary structures, incentive programs, etc
  • Demonstrated success in implementing compensation programs
  • Stay informed of changes to global compensation laws and regulations

Qualification & Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in compensation with 3 years of experience managing a team of compensation professionals
  • Deep subject matter expertise in complex global compensation programs, including carried interest, long term incentives, and other asset-management related programs
  • A high level of demonstrated analytical skills, interpersonal, oral and written communications skills and strong presentation skills; high attention to detail and confidentiality as well
  • Experience operating in or consulting with an organization that has a global footprint
  • The successful candidate should be results-oriented and have the ability to manage multiple projects
