Privatal: Head of Accounting

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the accounting team within the Shared Service Centre.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop robust financial plans.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency within the Shared Service Centre.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including finance leadership, regional controllers, and business partners, to support strategic decision-making.

Qualification & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance role, ideally within a shared service environment or multinational corporation.
• Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and Accounting Standards for financial statements in German Business (HGB).
• DATEV & SAP
• Experience managing complex financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
• Fluent German.
