Description

As a business domain owner, you provide the necessary alignment between IT and business. You are the IT counterpart of the business stakeholders and find energy in jointly challenging and improving the business processes and capabilities by means of digital solutions. As the solution guardian, you own the functional documentation, and you ensure that solutions delivered adhere to Galapagos policies, standards, and guidelines. ITS Business Domain Owner Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-analysis of potential implementation tracks
  • Work with the Business stakeholders in Shared Services to understand their business, drive alignment on how processes might be optimized and where systems/data can make the difference.
  • Clearly document the business processes (“as is” and “to be”) in clear documentation (data models, workflow mapping, …) and use these to jointly identify gaps or opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify different solution options together with the Technical Platform Owner and architect and prepare for implementation backlog planning.
  • Together with BPOs and Key Users, properly prioritize the requirements (value) and negotiate alignment on delivery feasibility with the architect.
  • Follow up implementation and roll-out of the solutions
  • Follow up on releases and projects, guard the quality throughout the implementation/configuration work via informal testing, refinement of requirements, ensure all applicable documentation is available, maintained and verified and user trainings are organized
  • Monitor user adoption, business process impact and system performance of the releases.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable regulations (GxP, SOX, GDPR), policies and procedures (security, architecture, validation,…)
  • Provide support in ITS portfolio management, demand prioritization, budget management and vendor & system selections.
  • Stay up to date about the latest solutions and trends in your domain and actively share your insights with colleagues.

Qualification & Requirements

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in Information Technology, Sciences, Engineering or an equivalent of education and experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • Customer-service oriented with a problem-solving attitude
  • Enthusiastic to work in an international environment, embracing diverse cultures and countries

You have the following technical knowledge

  • At least 5 years relevant experience supporting processes in a Pharmaceutical environment, preferably also with applicable regulations (GxP, GDPR, …).
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in business process analysis and implementing information systems.
  • Experience with system implementations in the areas of Quality Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, or in any other Shared Service departments is a plus.
  • You can facilitate resolutions of cross-team integrated topics.
  • You can find innovative ways to resolve problems, keeping a positive mind set and always looking at the bigger picture.
  • The ability to work independently, being able to partner on all applicable levels with the user groups and relevant vendors.
  • The ability to find sensible system solutions for complex business challenges.
