Description

You are required to provide support and direction on the full spectrum of HR activities in Mettler Toledo-Malaysia (MY) and Mettler Toledo-Southeast Asia (SEA).

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the HR Department while also serving as a strategic partner to the organization’s leadership team. In order for you to be a successful candidate, you will need to possess a strong background in HR Operations management, coupled with a proactive and strategic approach to HR business partnering.

Human Resources Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Shared Service Center Management
    • Establish and manage the HR Shared Service Center operation in Selangor, Malaysia; manage the SLA, drive operational excellence and appropriately staff and coach the service delivery team.
    • Establish and enable operations for the initial service portfolio, onboard new countries as per HR transformation implementation roadmap.
    • In collaboration with local HR teams, continuously explore the standardization and transfer of HR processes to the HR SSC; re-design and industrialize related processes.
    • Drive continuous operational improvements by exploring process re-design, digitalization & automation as well as applying training and coaching of HR SSC team members.
    • Support the change management efforts of the HR Transformation and the adoption of self-service and HR service center support.
  • HR Operations Management
    • Oversee all aspects of HR operations, including but not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and HRIS administration.
    • Effectively manage existing/propose new HR policies and procedures which are consistent with the objectives of the organization.
    • Streamline HR processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Manage employee data and records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Contribute to the development of operational frameworks based on these strategic plans and execute on these in collaboration with HR-SEA.
  • Partnering with the Business Leaders
    • Provide professionally-sound solutions to problems which are sensitive to the organization’s needs in each country, while keeping in mind Mettler Toledo’s values, culture and any relevant employment law
    • Take ownership and drive Group HR initiatives such as Global Performance Management (GPM), Professional Development Day (PDD) etc to ensure it is effectively understood and properly executed
    • Be the HR professional contact point for all people management issues to the Business Area (BA) Management teams in SEA
  • Employee Relations and Compliance
    • Handle employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant employment laws and regulations
    • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or grievances and recommend appropriate resolutions
    • Stay abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations and ensure organizational compliance
  • HCM System
    • Oversee accuracy and update of the following key processes in the HCM system:
    • New Hires (Employees and Contractors) / Rehires in the HCM system
    • Separations (Employees and Contractors) via MSS
    • New Positions / New Organizational Units – via MSS
    • Cost Center Changes
    • Benefit Enrollments / Terminations – via ESS
    • Personal Data Changes – ESS
  • Compensation & Benefits (C&B)
    • Review benchmarks and market data of salary bands for all key positions at regular intervals
    • Ensure current C&B framework is competitive and make suggestions for improvement
  • Payroll
    • Oversee the payroll function and ensure all payroll related activities are coordinated on a timely basis
    • Verify payroll data and bank file for authorizer approvals on a monthly basis based on agreed timelines
    • Run HCM Interfaces and Sage (payroll system) reports as required
  • Organization Development
    • Recommend strategies and lead initiatives to engage employees, foster team collaboration, retain talent and recognize and reward success in the region
    • Work with the BA Management team in developing a solid leadership pipeline/succession plan leveraging on the PDD (Succession planning) toolkit
    • Function as the change driver/champion to implement positive changes in all new/on-going organization development efforts
  • Trainings
    • Develop a structured format for onboarding of new employees and take the lead on induction programs in MY/ SEA
    • Conduct (in collaboration with BA Managers) a training needs analysis of employees in the respective Market Organisations (MOs) with a view to developing a structured training plan for each employee
    • Take ownership and maintain the training records of employees in the respective MOs

Qualification & Requirements

  • Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Psychology (or a related/equivalent field)
    • At least 8-10 years direct experience focused on HR generalist duties or Business Partner role in a multinational company
    • Track record of successfully implementing new Shared Service Center operations and related technologies
    • Working knowledge of Employment laws and regulations
    • Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate, promote and uphold HR initiatives and values, including discretion and confidentiality
    • Able to interact proactively with management and staff at all levels of the organization in the resolution of HR issues
    • Well-developed computer literacy skills within a Microsoft Office environment
