Description

Sanofi Business Services (SBS), one of the 5 pillars of Sanofi’s Business Services organization, is setting up a new captive Business Services Center in Bogota to provide Account-to-Report, integrated Order-to-Cash as well as HR services.

The Global Account to Report (A2R) team within the Sanofi Business Services (SBS) organization. A2R is an end-to-end organization that manages Finance activities from accounting data recording to the production and sign-off of financial reports. A2R consolidates the following activities: Fixed assets, Intercompany, Closing, Reporting, Inventories, Cash Accounting, Tax compliance and tax reporting activities, Audit support and Master Data.

Head of Account to Report Bogota Hub

Key Responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to perform A2R activities as described in the activity split of the global A2R Core Model for countries in Latin America and North America:

  • Ensure delivery of A2R activities with consistency and reliability
  • Monitor performance KPIs and ensure issues are addressed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, collect feedback, and monitor stakeholders’ satisfaction (e.g., A2R Country/MCO Heads)
  • Supervise A2R teams in the Bogota hub for daily operations and projects.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, people development and talent management of own team contributing to employee satisfaction.
  • Champion a delivery, performance & transformation mindset
  • Drive continuous improvement and hub scope expansion.
  • Promote and support the digitalization, automation & harmonization of the A2R processes.

Operations

  • Deliver efficient, high quality and compliant A2R activities in full alignment with the A2R global Core Model and according to the target performance KPI’s. A2R activities are mainly:
    • Fixed Assets accounting – asset life cycle management (record creation, cost accumulation, depreciation / valuation, impairment, scrapping and write-offs),
    • Bank accounting – perform bank reconciliation, clear transitory accounts, book entries related to financial instruments, calculate and book forex net position.
    • Tax compliance and tax reporting – calculate tax and prepare tax returns, provide on time MyTax reportings, support tax audits.
    • Financial closing and reporting – check integration of automatic transactions, analyse and close GLs, contribute to month-end closing activities (MJE’s, account reconciliations) and provide on time Group financial reportings (Solar, Marco)
    • Master data: maintain chart of accounts.
    • Internal control: perform internal control activities where the hub is control owner, support SOX audits by external auditors.
    • Support external financial audits.
  • Ensure strong collaboration with the country teams in Latin America and North America to close the books every month.
  • Monitor adherence to the A2R Core Model thru build/maintenance of adequate process documentation (Level 6/7) and timely resolution of Core Model gaps.
  • Ensure compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting/reporting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements

Continuous Improvement / Projects

  • Promote and impulse the implementation of best-in-class processes and policies.
  • Champion process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition leveraging on digital technologies.
  • Promote standardization and simplification of A2R processes at level 6/7
  • Ensure that key A2R projects deliver the expected benefits in terms of efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • Leverage operational experience and contribute to design of global A2R processes in close collaboration with the A2R GPO team.
  • Develop external network with other A2R Heads of hubs in Colombia to ensure own A2R processes are/become Best in Class
  • Deliver A2R projects supporting the A2R strategic roadmap and other Group projects where A2R is involved.

Hub expansion & promotion

  • Proactively identify opportunities to expand A2R activities in the hub.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of new activities to the Bogota hub in line with the A2R Core Model and Target Operating Model
  • Contribute to arbitrate any operational issue escalated by the country teams and/or the Hub team.
  • As a member of the Bogota hub Leadership Team, contribute to hub activities linked to:
  • stakeholders’ management
  • employee engagement (development of the Sanofi Business Services mindset and management of staff retention and attrition on a healthy level)
  • employer branding (establishment of reliable internal/external relationships with the sector associations, institutes, GBS networks and government units)
  • Corporate Social Responsibility programs
  • Establishment of a robust business continuity framework

Team management

  • Give visibility and communicate on the global and regional strategy.
  • Set objectives for his/her staff and assess the contributions during interviews.
  • Develop team skillset to adapt to evolving roles in A2R coming from new technologies and changes in organization and ensure corresponding workforce planning.
  • Oversee hiring process and manage career path for his/her team.
  • Develop talent through job rotation, adequate people development plans and promotion of end-to-end process knowledge.
  • Manage career path for his/her team inside and outside A2R.
  • Foster performance culture within his/her team
  • Reward employees by recommending salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.

Stakeholders and Change Management

  • Ensure A2R Core Model components are well understood to perform an effective implementation.
  • Set up close relationships with regional and local stakeholders when needed to allow smooth communication, efficient change management and issue resolution.
  • Collect stakeholders’ feedback and provide feedback to stakeholders for mutual improvement.
  • He/she is a permanent member of the A2R Leadership Team and of the Bogota Hub Leadership Team.
  • He / she works closely with the Head of A2R for the International region, A2R teams in Latin America and North America countries, One Finance teams (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control…) and other SBS departments.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Experience: +10 years hands on experience in end-to-end Account to Report processes in an international, multicultural, complex environment. Having worked in a shared services (GBS) environment in a managerial role is essential. Proven record in process improvement & change management.

Technical skills:

  • Deep understanding on Closing and reporting, fixed assets, cash, and bank accounting
  • Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP’s
  • Hands-on experience of SAP FICO and other IT tools
  • Education: Graduate or master’s degree in finance or accounting and chartered accounting certification
  • Languages: Advanced English and Spanish.
